I cant think of anyone else in recent history that has done what Favre has done...and it's bad for what he did in Green Bay....I can't see him playing anywhere else.....

This is one of the funniest/best things I've read in a while. I'm so unbelievably sick of Favre pulling this nonsense. Attention whore is putting it nicely. It's particularly obnoxious in Wisconsin where he has been teasing us for YEARS and he holds the media captive with this "will he or won't he retire?!?!" game. Although I was originally sad to see him go, I was glad he finally made up his mind and did so in a respectable way. That didn't last long though...

The Favre watch is finally over...he is back...now the question is...will he start for the Packers or will they exercise their rights and trade him?

I know Aaron Rogers is madder than a lil' bit.....

Interesting stuff - Jay Glazer from Fox Sports broke the story. It's funny that, with the amount of manpower ESPN dedicated to the Favre Saga, it wasn't one of their reporters that got the scoop. I'm sure Mortensen or one of the others will take credit, though.

I guess Peter King will be covering EVERY Jets game next year.

Now...here are a few questions

1. Does Favre start or does he compete for the starting job? (IMO, I don't think you would do all of that and NOT start him....)

2. How much better does this make the Jets in competition with New England for that division?

3. Considering that some drafts are busts in the first round, do you think the Packers got ripped off for the draft picks they got in trade for Favre?

The article I read said they're releasing Pennington, so I don't think there's anyone to compete with, he's already got his #4 Jets jersey and I expect he'll start.

I just read the same thing and I think in principle that's a good move...however, that means NOW...Kellen Clemens will have to sit behind Favre and I thought that last season enough people had 'liked' Clemens that he would be a good prospect for starter this year...any Jets fans here can correct me of course....

SO....the question also becomes...where will Chad go? I think he will probably wind up benching somewhere because with all the injuries...he hasn't been the same....again...Jets fans correct me if you disagree.....

ETA...a little known fact....the Jets were going to pick Favre in the 1991 draft, but the Falcons got him first...heh

update

12:01 pm Farve just announced that he doesn't want to play for the Jets and he is going to retire.

12:02 Farve announced that he changed his mind and he is going to play but he reserves the right to change his mind.

12:03 Farve and John Madden announce that they are going to share an apartment in the big apple.
