a few people that i know have brought up the idea of daniel day lewis as the riddler.

BTW, I believe Christian Bale just always talks like that. I seem to recall that in Little Women he had a weird lisp thing goin' on. It probably has something to do with him being an Englishman doing an American accent, too.

It suggests that The Riddler as well as Catwoman could be potential characters. It also suggests that Nolan doesn't want to use the Penguin or Robin.
