Smaller chapter...how to look as good as the big ones?
So due to the random occurence of having alot of seniors, our house is going to be uber small next year, which presents a problem when it comes to rush. we will have to double seat everyone, maybe even triple, to accomodate the rush parties for the first two days. Any idea on how to make this just as comfortable as it would be to be single sat? Any ideas on how to not-akwardly hold a conversation with two people without leaving one of them out?

have each sister try to find common ground between her two guests and herself. she should make sure that both pnms know each others name and know her's and then she should try some small talk before she starts with questions that will help her find common ground-places they've traveled to, movies recently seen, books read, hobbies, etc.

If your events are set up where sisters are serving food or drinks, would it be possible with your campus rules to have young alumnae or women from UCSB come and do those tasks so the UCLA members could be freed to meet the PNMs?

I would recommend thinking about doing group conversations instead of 2 PNMs to 1 active - as in 3 PNMs to 2 actives or something along those lines. This way there are two actives who can kind of play off each other and you have at least two members who have met the three PNMs (as opposed to maybe only one member meeting two PNMs). It also gives you a chance to pair a weaker recruiter with a stronger recruiter.
If your chapter is adamantly opposed to group conversations, then I would just practice practice practice the 2 on 1 scenario - maybe with a fraternity before the year's out? Or have an alumnae event where they know that the actives are looking to specifically practice double-rushing. Also, talk to advisors and higher-ups as I'm sure they have advice for you.

Here's a good thread about being the smaller chapter during formal recruitment and making PNMs feel special:
