My mom just initiated into Sigma
I just wanted to tell you all about our Alumnae Initiate program. My mom was just initiated into my chapter, Pi in October and my best friend is being Initiated this weekend into Eta Kappa. It's an awesome program we have and just think, if your mom or sister or friend couldn't be a Tri Sigma in college, maybe she can now!
It's always great to keep our sorority moving forward!!!

Congrats!!
That's so exciting that your mom got initiated!! Congrats to you both!! This makes your relationship even more special
The Zeta Mu Chapter (my chapter) will be initiating three wonderful women this Saturday (three of my good friends), so I'm really excited about that. I absolutely love initiation!

Laura

thats is great about your mom
I am pursuing alum initation into abc sorority and i think it is awesome that there is still a chance for ladies past the collegiate age that can still become a sister in wonderful organization.

Thanks all! It's been such a great experience to share Tri Sigma with my mom, she's loving it so far and is retiring so will be visiting cities with Sigma chapters all over.
Thanks everyone for the support and if you ever want to know how we do out alumnae initiation process, just let me know.
Love,
Tracie

I have a question.. To do the alum iniation do you have to already be graduated college? I mean I am interested in it myself but a couple of the sororities I was looking into we don't even have them on my campus and I am so close to graduation. Anyone know anything about that.. Thanks..

Shawndalynn,
You do not have to have a college degree to become an alumna initiate of Tri Sigma. My mother did not have a college degree. However, you cannot be pursuing a college degree at the time. (meaning, if you're in college, you can't be an alumna initiate).
If you have any other questions, please let me know.

AngelPhiSig, do a search there are 2 big threads on this in Greek Chat and they list all the orgs that do this. I know it let's you know if your org does. If you can't find them, let me know.

Hi Ladies,
A bit of "shameless self-promotion" here..... but since there is so much information out there for collegiate rushees, but nothing for aspiring alumnae initiates, I just wanted to let you know about a post that I put up entitled My Advice to Prospective Alumnae Initiates
If you scroll to the very end, you can see all the NPC groups and any links that they may have to alumnae initiation!
GOOD LUCK!

I am very interested in this process. I went to school at Southern AR University and I participated in Recruitment but due to a financial issue at home I left school to help out my parents. I wasn't there long enough to receive a bid. I was very good friends with several of the girls and LOVED the group as a whole. I long for that sisterhood that I missed out on.
If it makes any difference: I have since started school for cosmetology and have began working on my career goals. I have also recently become engaged and am looking forward to beginning my adult life. I am happy with my life but I still want to complete myself by doing what I always wanted to do. I appreciate any help.
Also...I have looked at the AI forum and it doesn't really help me with specific Tri-Sigma facts. I would like some more specific info regarding this group in particular.
Thanks Again,
-Misty

Your best bet is to contact sigma HQ...you can get the telephone number from the website. They should be able to tell you how to proceed (most likely by contacting the alumnae chapter in your area). Best of luck!
ETA: If you're still in contact with any of the girls from the SAU chapter that you knew while in college, that would also be a good place to start...especially if they are active in an alumnae chapter since usually AI is done through an alum chapter.
