try to take a hot hot hot hot hot shower before you crash. It always sobers me up enough that it minimized the hangover the next day.
And McDonald's the next day-- it soaks up whatever's left in your system.

And hate to say it, but I always feel better the next day if I was sick the night before...

Nothing in my experience works as well as a can of Pepsi or Coke (it MUST be a can for maximum carbonation) and a bagel or toast. Don't know why, but it's never yet failed to make me feel human again!

I'd have to say, try drinking whatever it was you were drinking before. If it was beer, have a beer, it usually helps me out quite a bit. Also drink lots of water, or any kind of liquid. Finally, eat something that will fill you up, some McDonalds or Wendy's or one phatty breakfast, some pancakes, waffles, something to soak all that alcohol still in your stomach.

As someone else was saying, drink water before you crash.. LOTS OF WATER. I generally drink as much will fit in my stomach. Maybe eat some bread (that's supposed to soak up the alcohol).

I still get nasty hangovers, but that's probably because I hardly ever drink enough to warrant one...

Once you are nauseous, barfing, or experiencing the whirlies don't even bother----it's too late.

BUT if you are just feeling a little too happy when you come home and you know you are going to feel it, try guzzling some Gatorade. Try to down a whole bottle (the 32 oz size at least.) Eat some crackers or toast or a bagel or something, and take 2 Advil/Motrin before you go to sleep. And when you wake up, Damasa is right, if you can stomach it "the hair of the dog" helps......even a few sips of beer or whatever will help.

OLD LADY TIP: AN OUNCE OF PREVENTION IS WORTH A POUND OF CURE!!!! Don't let yourself get that drunk in the first place! Always eat when you are drinking (have some wings or something) and once you get your buzz on, drink a glass of water between each alcoholic beverage.

This is really only relevant to LSU/ULL students, but Rasing Cane's Chicken Fingers can raise me back from the dead.

Thurs night, my roomates, their boyfriends, my boyfriend and his roomate all went out for 5 cent pitcher night. One roomate was puking before we left the bar. The other started when they got home. I went with my guy and his roomate to Cane's and didn't get sick Neither did they. Coincidence? I think not!

I do have to agree, though, that if you're feeling dizzy, drink lots of water and then just induce vomit. Makes me feel SO SO SO much better.

If I'm dizzy and sleepy, I usually fall asleep with one eye open. I know it sounds strange, but if I close both eyes, I get dizzy. So I just colapse in bed, close one eye, and eventually sleep closes the other one.

I pound as much water as my body can handle, and then try to have a big breakfast/lunch. Usually eating makes me feel a lot better, and I'm usually pretty hungry after a night of hardcore drinking.

People say that you should have another beer but if you're already feeling nauseous then beer won't sit too well on your stomach. Before you go to bed, make sure you drink at LEAST 3 big glasses of water. The reason why you're hungover is because your body is dehydrated. While you're drinking, make sure you're eating bread or some kind of fiber....it absorbs the alcohol. After you have a drink, have a glass of water. This will keep your body hydrated. A hot shower will speed up your metabolism; you may feel drunker once you get out but it will get the alcohol to move out of your system faster (warning: if someone is extremely drunk DON'T put them in a hot shower....a friend of mine did this to his roommate and his roomie ended up in a coma...bad, bad, bad) I know this sounds horrible but you may also want to try to get yourself to throw up before you sleep so that the alcohol doesn't sit in your system while you're sleeping. If you still feel sick the next morning, drink some ginger ale...this will help soothe your stomach.

.

My bartending for dummies book recommends another beer, or a bloody mary. AKA hair of the dog.

You should never take medication such as Tylenol or Advil if you have been drinking. It can cause serious liver damage. You can take it the next day.
As others have posted drinking a lot of water before you go to sleep should help prevent a hangover.

A few nights ago, some of my sisters and I were partying. Although I did not agree with them, everyone told me that my little was rather tipsy and that I needed to go and take care of her. I got a glass of water to take to her and everyone busted my chops!

They said not to giver her water, it was bad. I thought water helped, like you all are saying.

Anyone know???
