What's up sorors? Have any of you had a chance to check out Halle Berrys movie "Monsters Ball". I may be wrong for this but I have some serious problems with the way the sister was portrayed in the movie. Maybe its just a Black mans pride?

I'm not in a BGLO, but I wanted to know why you were offended. I mean, there were some bad characters and characterizations, sure. Black men were portrayed in both good and bad lights as well.

I didn't take Halle's character as anywhere indicative or implicative because there were only three Black female characters in the whole movie. Plus, Hollywood is so narrowminded as it is, I can be surprised/appalled/shocked by virtually nothing at this point.

I saw the movie this weekend and it was OK. I thought the storyline was a little boring and I can see how you could have problems with the portrayal of Leticia since Billy Bob basically saved her.
