Recruitment Counselors
I just wanted to toot my own horn a little bit, and say that I was just selected as recruitment counselor! I am so excited, along with one of my sisters who was also selected. 30 girls applied, and there are only 14 RCs. I logged in under an alias, and after posting my story here on GC, I will reveal myself (bet you all can't wait, huh?!) So here's waiting till August. In the mean time, I hope that others announce when they become RCs.

S.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to say that I'm also going to be a Rho Chi next fall, and I'm a little nervous about the whole disaffiliation process. I can't wait to come back to school next August and meet my rush group, though. I'm one of 30 Rho Chi's, and two of my sisters are Rho Chi's with me, as well as one Panhel Exec member, so I won't be all alone! I'll live in a hotel with all of the other Rho Chi's for the ten days of school before Bid Day next fall, so I promise to post my stories and fill you all in on what happens. I'm looking forward to it! Any former Rho Chi's with stories to share or advice? I'd love to hear it!!

I'm so glad that people have been responding! Along these lines, I know at my school, each recruitment counselor group has a theme. My group when I went through was "Beauty Queens" and we wore sashes saying "Miss Alabama" or whatever state on them, and we also wore little tiaras all through rush. Do any other schools do this? I'm not even sure if we are going to this year or not, but does anyone have any cutesy ideas?

Odd question- what should one do about her posts on GC revealing their affiliation? Even if a new PG (Rho Gamma) makes a new GC nic, a PNM could still she her old posts which may reveal her name, school & affiliation. For example My school & GLO are easily available as well as my not-so-common name. If I were to be chosen as a Rho Gamm how can I keep a PNM from reading my old posts? If I edited my profile & sig would it change all my posts ever? Maybe I'm making it harder than it needs to be, but if I'm not then we may have a quandry...

Good question, Heidi. What I would probably do is create a new handle with an anonymous profile, that doesn't mention geographic location, school, GLO affiliation, etc.
Then I would take my *alter*-handle and delete my profile and signature in my user-cp. That would remove it from all former posts. After that, I'm guessing it would just be a matter of going through your old posts and edit any that may have your personal information on it.
I imagine that would be a ton of work, though! I'm so glad I wasn't on GC when I was a Rho-Chi or Panhellenic President!

If you change your info in your profile, you can change it back and it will change back everywhere, I think. I changed my sig and it changed on my old posts too, so I would assume the reverse is true.

Rush groups
Someone on here said they have group themes for recruitment (though it's always gonna be rush for me )? At my school we didn't do themes, but we all learned cutesy little songs that we'd sing and pass the time between rounds. Of course we'd have competitions between the groups and it was tons of fun. Do other schools sing songs or do fun things like that?

I was wondering. Do any of you have your Recruitment Counselors in the recruitment rooms or are they outside?

We were never allowed in the rooms where recruitment was actually taking place.. We had a seperate room to be in. I don't know if that answers your question or not.. I come from a small school..

Just a quick question...why is the term "Rho Chi" no longer appropriate? For that matter, what's wrong with "rush"? I'm sure there's an answer out there somewhere, but I figured someone else would know faster than it would take me to weed through all the threads!
love, Corina
