any suggestions on how to get your mind off an ex after a breakup?

Keep yourself busy. Go out with friends as much as possible, and see if any of them can hook you up with one of their single buddies. Doing things with a new person will help to keep your ex out of your thoughts.

I always thought the only way to really get over someone is to find someone new to like. Or at least hook up with someone new to put some "distance" between you and the ex. I'm not saying to go crazy, but it is really depressing to think to yourself, "the last time I kissed a guy was four months ago, and that was with my ex." (at least that bothers me).

Hang out with the people that are most important to you in your life - family, friends etc.

make a list of the bad keep it visible
call on your friends that you know will keep you happy
for once make yourself teh # 1 priority
know there is a reason for this and that one day you will know why and besides god wanted us to meet a few of the wrong people so that we will know when we meet the right one ... hang in and know this will only make you stronger ...
