Glutton Bowl
Fox is airing this "Glutton Bowl" -- eating contest.
So far, they have eaten hardboiled eggs and sticks of unsalted butter.
GROSS.

That's repulsive. I wouldn't be surprised if someone hurled or had a heart attack on the show.
Do you ever wonder what another civilzation would think of us if they saw our forms of "entertainment"? Shows that belittle people (the weakest link). Shows that prey on people's fear(Fear factor). Shows that make salient the Machiavellian nature of humans(Survivor). Now gluttony...a sin according to many religions. Ridiculous and rather piteous. What stations will do for ratings.
I will refrain from getting "all religious" here. But honestly, wholesomeness, honesty, kindess. These are the true virtues that are praised in society. Now why do we need these programs to showcase everything wrong with us, contradicting accepted values?
Sorry, sorry. I'll stop.

My roommate and I sat in front of the TV saying "Why are we watching this???" Somehow, we just couldn't seem to pull ourselves away.

Okay, I saw the ad for this....*so* gag-worthy!! I just saw them devouring mayonaise and almost died..I have a conditioned aversion to mayo and can't come within 20 feet of the gooey gunk...so seeing those guys chow it down was a horrid experience!!

Ok, Y'all...I'm literally getting the dry heaves just thinking about this! We have enough fat asses in this world who stuff their faces without glamorizing it into some stupid reality show. I am glad that I am in Europe and didn't have to watch it. I mean, eating sticks of butter??? Come ON people!!!!! ICK!

I came across that program as I was putting my son to sleep. I started watching when they were eating plain hamburgers - bread and meat. That wasn't so bad. The champ ate 11. Then came the 15 foot piece of sushi. There were two foot long sections that had a large amount of wasabi. That was gross. You could see that some were starting to have difficulty holding it down. The winner ate almost 4 ft. I started doing other things and when I sat down again, they were eating potatoes. That wasn't bad until I realized that it was mountain oysters. I got up a fiddled around again. When I came back, this man had a brain, which I assume was a cow brain, hanging from his mouth. That was it. No more reality TV. I switched to my soap operas.

I was flipping channels and watched for about 5 seconds...long enough to see people syuffing mayo down their throats. Good lord, that was the worst thing I've ever seen.

Someone please explain the mentality of someone who would want to do this and do it on tv? That's sick to me.
