I would appreciate prayers for my aunt. We think she may have had a heart attack or stroke this morning. She has been out of it all day at the hospital, and amazingly, when 7:00 pm rolled around, she started responding, and looked as if she recognized us and understood what we were saying to her. (We believe this is due to members of three different churches praying for her tonight). Thank you so much ladies!

Let me know how your aunt is doing - I hope things will continue to improve.
I am dealing with a ton of bricks right now - just found out that my Gram - my one strength in this world - has been diagnosed with cancer. They don't know anything until after next Monday when they meet with the specialist, but with her being 78 and frail, it is a hard thing to think about. I have long held the belief that my Gram is a Saint among us, so I know she will appreciate any extra prayers. Thanks!!

My prayers are with you both and your families.
I just came back from Colorado-I visited a friend who just had a new baby-she and the baby are ok but her husband is addicted to drugs, is very depressed and was forced to quit his job (he is a vet.) as the drugs are readily available there. They have almost no income and are not far from being homeless. My friend and I have tried to help but additional prayers would also be appreciated.

Aggie - sorry to hear about that - that is terrible. Is he not ready to face his addiction? If so, are they not available for support while he gets treatment? Sorry for all the questions - I think that is such a tragedy for people to go through. I know she appreciates your help and support.

He goes to AA meetings but according to my friend their insurance won't cover hospitalization for longer than 3 days. I told her that he needs to be hospitalized or see a therapist but they have no $$ to do this. I don't understand the situation either-he has a family but apparently won't ask for their help. All I can do is make suggestions at this point, I am very frustrated about the whole situation

An update...
My aunt's episode had something to do with her heart, and they ended up putting a defibulator (spelling?) in so that it hopefully won't happen again. She is going to be released from the hospital tomorrow. Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts girls!

Great news about your aunt! Keep me updated!
Well I had quite the scare yesterday afternoon - our black lab has a kiddie pool out back, and we have had nice warm sunny afternoons - well he started barking at something in his pool, so Mr. AXO Alum goes back to check it out (normally there's a big fat bullfrog living in there so we figured that's what it was) -- well I step out on the back deck just in time to see Oscar fling something through the air -- and all I could see was something long, and pale/yellowy color -- I went running out there, but it was gone, so we knew it had to be a snake.
We found the puncture wound right on his lip (the big fat part that hangs over his mouth just below his nose) and since it was 6:30, off to the emergency vet we go. They thought it was a copperhead (and it turned out to be so), but because there has been a strong comeback of the Eastern Rattlesnake, they weren't sure. Copperhead bites just hurt really bad and cause little damage (according to the doc), but rattlesnake bites kill -- so we opted to leave him overnight at the vet so they could start treatments.
Anyway, he is fine - he came home this morning and has eaten well, and wags his tail at me and stuff. Still very sleepy so he's just been laying around, but he has to keep his head up, because if he tries to lay it down, it hits the puncture wound and he yelps.
Poor thing - I guess I could try to prop his head up.
So send out some get well prayers for Oscar!! Thanks!

OMG, AXO Alum! That's scary about Oscar! I'm glad he's okay and it wasn't baby AXO Alum playing in the yard with a snake...
One of my best friend's niece was born with kidney problems and was in the hospital earlier this week with a severe kidney infection and 105 degree temperature. And she's not even a year old yet. She's out of the hospital now and on the strongest antibiotics they provide to babies and feeling better. But this kidney problem could affect her for her whole life and she can keep getting these infections. I know my friend would really appreciate prayers for her niece!
Thanks!!

Please pray for my niece and her babies.
My niece is almost 16 weeks pregnant with twins. She knows one is a little boy. She has been spotting for 3 days now and is
so frightened and filled with sadness. Please pray for her, my future grand nephew and my little future surprize. Please.

JAM,
My thoughts and prayers are with your niece. I am assuming she is now on bed rest? We had a tachnician that is currently pregnant with twins and she started spotting in January and had to quit and go on strict bed rest-all is well at this time. She is having a boy and a girl.

Prayers for Zeta Eta
Hello Sisters,
Sadly during this season of thanksgiving, my chapter has lost a sister. Jennifer Buckman, despite being a New Zeta Eta Initiate this year, had already contributed so much to our chapter and to each one of our lives. Bradley University has already shown great support and so has a good portion of the greek community. During this difficult time, we ask for the continuous support from our sisters across the country for the Buckman Family and show others what sisterhood is really about, supporting one another during times of need.
If you are interesting in contacting the Zeta Eta chapter please do so through our website: http://www.bradley.edu/campusorg/axo/Home/home.html
or if you're interested in making a memorial, the family requested the following in the obituary;
"Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, Central Illinois Chapter, 311 W. John H. Gwynn Jr. Ave., Peoria, IL 61605, or to Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 N. Missouri Ave., Morton, IL 61550."
Thank you for all your support thus far!
LITB,
AXO Zeta Eta
