That's lame. If censorship was absolutely necessary, just delete that person's PM that I posted and her post that quoted me. Not the entire back and forth just because it made her shed a tear.

This thread has turned into the starang and dstchaos thread. ahahaha.
As for her making fun of herself and being the "Asian Sensation"...I know many Asian Americans would think that role really puts them into a certain category and thus not like it.
However, one person (for anything) does not speak for the group or represent the group, so whatever floats a persons boat.
And btw, APIA Greeks do have some history...

They have under 15 chapters, unlike (most) D9s, NPCs and IFCs. I guess that makes them more exclusive, but I don't know. Knowing how some Asian parents are, I'm not too sure if your typical parent would go around saying "My son is a Pi Alpha Phi" or "My daughter is a Sigma Omicron Pi" all that much, unless these kids are legacies. People would be "wha???" People are just more familiar with D9s, NPCs and IFCs. If the immigrant family hasn't heard of these GLOs, their neighbours might.

Taualumna,
I'm not sure what your point is. Where was I saying parents would go around saying those things or anything related to size and exclusivity?
I was referring to the fact that there are other options out there and that APIA Greeks also have some age.

Nowhere. But the size and exclusivity factor is based on my experience with Asian parents. I live in Toronto, where the Asian communities, particulary Chinese, is HUGE. And pride to which schools and organizations a child joins is HUGE. Just because an organization (or school, for that matter) has been around for over 80 years, doesn't mean that the parents would be proud about it, because, guess what? Mom and Dad have never heard of them. Or if they have, their friends and relatives haven't. That's why so many parents want their kids in the Ivies or other well-known schools. I'm sure that being in a historically Asian fraternity, you would know this.
