What is up with these secret marriages?

First Janet and now Brandy? Not like I lost too much sleep over it, but what is the deal? What happened to facing everything together and all that. How in the heck do you get married on the DL???

I don't know..Mary J. Blige is getting married soon and is keeping her fiancé's identity and any wedding plans top secret. I think that because they're celebrities, a higher premium is put on "selling" their weddings to unauthorized media outlets. So rather than making something that should be a special moment into a major media circus, celebrities are opting to keep their marriages secret.

Also - with respect to Janet, her first marriage was SUCH a mess I think she wanted to keep this one secret so that people would stay up out of her business.

What difference does it make if celebs make their marriages public business or not? It certainly doesn't make the marriage any more or less valid. She knows she's married. Her husband knows he's married. Who else needs to know?

Maybe they are searching for some semblance of normality.

The secret marriages are only secret to the paparazzi that make big bucks off descending on the wedding spot and being absolutely rude and intrusive. I guess we all want to know what’s going on, can't help that....

But, I would think (or at least hope) that their families and close friends attended, and I guess that's what really counts.

I wish them the best, though.

I really don't follow the stars and their personal lives that closely! I wish Brandy and her new husband the best. However, I can understand why they wouldn't want outsiders in their private business. So many news media organizations are so disrespectful and rude its a shame! I guess that's part of the price a person as to pay for stardom and fame!

Celebrities keep their marriages, engagements, pregnancies and the like a private matter b/c they don't want the media bombarding them with stupid questions about their personal life on a constant basis. Just my honest opinion....
