This was such a sad story but I also am convinced that this is not the first time this has happened. Violence usually escalades. I hope he gets the punishment he deserves.

I agree with you. There have been incidents of violent behavior between them in the past. My heart goes out to their church members who have had to witness and suffer through this awful drama.

I think it's so unfortunate that they have to go through this in public. It is difficult to deal with any relationship issues, but to have the public offering their editorials as well cannot make it easier. I just hope and pray that they are seeking the help they need and that they make the necessary decisions for themselves and not for the sake of their public images.

I heard on TJMS that he supposedly asked his church members (yesterday) to pay for his defense The Raven fund or something about a Raven.

Is it true that JB basically "made" this man popular and that no one really knew of him until she married him?

I heard the same thing this morning. I thought they were saying Raymond Fund, but it could have been Raven too.

I know I never heard of him until he married her, but that's not saying much about me and all of these bishops, elders, apostles, prophets, and prophetesses that are popping up like nail salons owned by Asians.

Although some of her ministry (and motives) may be questionable, we can not argue a few facts:

1) She has an anointing - look at how old 'No More Sheets' is and many people I know still talk about that sermon like it just took place. Now, she may have abused the anointing but I think things will change in her life now.

2) When one's life is at the point of great transformation, demonic attack takes place - often in crazy and unusual ways. My pastor always says 'the higher the level, the greater the devil.' If we look back at our lives, right before God blessed us with something wonderful, there was a crazy storm that just took place.

3) Christian marriages are magnets for attack, particularly when the couple is also clergy. Paula White and her husband are divorcing now as well.

4) I think she recognizes that God has blessed her tremendously and is calling her to a higher place. I just saw a portion of her recent women's conference on the Word Network. She talked about some of the issues in her marriage and spoke prophetically about how the relationship would probably get worse because of what God was doing in her life.

5) Women have to be careful who they select as mates. Some men can be very jealous and often this trait doesn't come out until after the woman begins to achieve great success.

6) God will not bless mess. Yes, there have been rumors of how the relationship came to be and I remember my Grandmom always saying that the Lord will never bless one woman with another woman's husband.

Surprisingly, Donnie McClurkin had something similar to say about the situation. He said that some people are 'pimping' the people of God right now. There are lots of people who are not truly called or anointed but have gotten titles and positions. He said that the people within the church need to speak up and be more vocal about who is leading them and what is going on in their lives. If you know that your pastor beats his wife, how can he tell you anything about what to do in your life and your family? That's not saying that he can't pray for forgiveness and repent, but too many people are sitting in churches not saying anything about the wrong that's going on within them.
