can you send an email from yahoo from a cellphone?

Is it possible to send emails from a cellphone from a yahoo acct?

Here's the brief story: I received an email from an ex-student (graduated in 06) that was, shall we say to put it mildly- indecent- on monday with pictures and all. To say that I was mildly disgusted would be putting it lightly. I contacted proper authorities and they will be dealing with the situation.

I received another one this morning saying, "Sorry for the last email, I lost my phone with all my info in it. "

Does anyone buy this? Sounds fishy to me, like someone trying to cover their a$$ because they realized the ramifications were not going to be favorable. Just doesn't add up if you ask me.

Wow, that is really awful, I'm sorry that this is going on. Now, I know that you can send emails from phones, depends on what service you have though. I have verizon, and I can send emails, but I have to pay for the service, blah blah blah so I don't use it, but with Tmobile you usually get free internet with a plan, esp with a sidekick... Idk about cingular/at&t but they have the iphone, blackberry, so i'm assuming that you can.

You can 100% send emails from phones - all it would take to send from Yahoo would be an internet-enabled phone, which are not rare.

It's feasible that his browser would retain his Yahoo login information as well - I know my personal computer is set to auto-login.

It's 100% possible he's telling the truth, and it could definitely "add up".

i have verizon...thru their system i can check my emails from my cell as well as move them around (forward, erase, etc.) i would think you could forward it from your cell phone to another email address and have no problems...at least i know i can.

My boss's Blackberry lets him connect to the internet and send email through our exchange server. I would think he could connect to yahoo as well....

my question is ... why would someone do this? Obviously to really screw with him, but still it seems so crazy. AOII what was your relationship like with this student? Does it seem like it IS something that he would do?

He was in my class 3 years(failed one year, so redid the 3rd)....was never disrespectful, but not a very attentive student. Not a close relationship at all. I just don't know a. how he got my personal(not work) email address and b. why anyone would get that info and then send pictures of their "junk" to me.

I mean seriously...how effed up are your friends if they do that...it just seems a little too convenient. It's also WRONG. I don't want people thinking that I encouraged this kind of behavior. And how did he know that an email got sent to me anyhow?

His outbox? Maybe he figured out someone was using his phone and checked for damage, and is now doing damage control....

While that is entirely possible...the email was very offensive, with not 1 but 2 pics of an erect wang.

Again...WHO DOES THAT? and why would he have my personal email?

Hmm... yeah he probably saw the outbox and sent out a mass email to everyone.... seems pretty fishy to me... i would probably give him the benefit of the doubt, but it's also good that you reported it.

How about instead of "sorry for the previous email...someone has my phone with all my info in it" , "I am so sorry that you received that highly inappropriate email." I mean come on...

Sending pictures of an erect penis(which could have been his) to your ex teacher is not usually even slightly funny. While some of you may think so...it worries me.

I have my homepage on my phone's browser set to my yahoo mail. He may have found your e-mail address somewhere and saved it to his address book, which a spammer then used to send the email.
