I Need To Know

A question for the girls...

Do you know what the Panhellenic grade point requirement is for initiation, and do you know what it is for pledging? I'm not sure if they are the same or different.

For any Delta Zeta's...do you know what the pledging and initiation GPA requirement is for DZ? I'm not sure if it varies by chapter or if it's a national thing. Thanks for the help!

Something to think about...Each sorority at a school may have a different GPA minimum requirement. HS GPA and College GPA might be given different scoring points.

fyi

Not sure if ya'll know this yet. DZ has officially upped it's pledging requirment. In order to be pinned, a potential new member must have a 2.6 gpa. Also, anyone coming in this semester or any semester afterwards must maintain that 2.6 to stay in good academic standing. For those of us who joined under the 2.5 requirement - ours stays the same!

=)

I would assume PH would leave it up to the chapters. If you were below the school requirement to stay above bad standing then I assume you couldn't be a member in good standing.

I am sure it depends on chapter GPA for initiation.

At my school the minimum to rush was 2.0, but the different sororities had different grade requirements, usually around 2.5 which had to be kept to stay in good standing. This may have changed as I went alum in 1997.

Ours was 3.0 to pledge; 2.5 to stay active.... I don't know if this is the same with the other chapters.

Our requirements are not set in stone.

NPC requires a 2.0, but I am pretty sure that most of the chapters, nationals or internationals have a higher GPA for entrance. Ours is a 2.25, but I think there is talk about increasing the minimum GPA to a 2.5.

Unhappy

You can be 18 to be in the military but barely smoke and cannot drink!

With the dire straits that the Greek System is in, if the School requires 2.0 to Graduate with then why keep uping the GPA and keep more people people out?

Is it not enuff for you men and women to have a full plate thier first year of college and throw on the Greek System where there is more?

Hell if you can Graduate with a 2.0 then why not keep as an active at that leve?

I know we are trying to hold ourselves at a higher level, but does it not get a little overwhelming?

Bridget3D...I go to Bowling Green and I don't know anyone named Bridget so I probably don't know you which means that you probably don't know me. What made you say you did?

Thanks for the responses everyone. Just curious about the GPA requirements for Delta Zeta because I know a couple girls who are DZ's and they were saying something about how academics is a huge priority for their chapter. Thanks for the info
