I agree that I would have liked to know about the Dursleys.
As for Hermione's parents, I fugured she did tell us -- when Hermione was explaining about sending her parents to Australia, she talked about how she'd undo it all and they'd come home if everything turned out okay.

What I am hoping for is that this is THE END and she won't sell the intellectual properties over to someone who will create more books and spinoffs...for instance...when the Star Wars franchise was revived in the early 90s with the newe books...it was cool..but now 15 years later, they have killed off major characters and have storylines that just make me say....enough please...if anything...if Rowlings does do anymore writing..would be something like a compedium similar to what the Lord of the Rings has to kind of round out everything.
I wanna know if anyone killed at the last battle became school ghosts

I really hope she does write more stories, but as much as I love HP, I don't want her to write anymore HP adventures. She's ended the series, and I am happy with the way things ended. If this wasn't the end, then I would love for her to keep writing HP books.

Sorry, when I looked back at what I typed I can see where I was unclear--
I think I figured out which person got the reprieve and which two where the unexpected deaths (Hagrid, Tonks/Lupin).
I meant to say Hagrid got the reprieve since at first it seemed he was a goner after having chased the spiders and
Tonks and Lupin were the two unexpected deaths although there was foreshadowing that they were going to die (when Harry thought to himself that he was being as reckless as Sirius.) That'll teach me to be on my computer too late :-)

icelandelf, that makes perfect sense now - and I'm as guilty as you are of being on the computer too late! I think if I read your other post before 5 in the morning I might have understood it

I was liking to think James' middle name was Fred.

Harry had 2 sons, so the middle names of the eiter of the boys could easily be Fred and Sirius.

It's okay I've been so excited about this book for the last week that after my all night readathon, I'm now up all night (mostly on the computer) and can't get going during the day. It's no wonder I'm incoherent!

Actually Albus' middle name is Severus - named for the two greatest headmasters at Hogwarts. James' middle name is still left to be determined.
I think the name of Rose followed after Harry's mom and aunt - Rose, Lily, Petunia, etc.

When HP named his son "Albus Severus" after the two greatest headmasters, that is when I became teary eyed. The idea of such forgiveness and understanding in the face of Snape's temperment toward HP and realizing all these many years Snape had loved HP's mother was a real act of honoring his memory.
I thought Rose was Hermonine and Ron's daughter. Harry and Ginny Potter's daughter is named Lilly.

I don't remember! LOL It still could be that it followed along the same lines. I could see James Sirius as being the full name of the other son.

So who's now re-reading their copy? I'm about halfway through my second reading. My boyfriend just looked at me and went, "I thought you finished it?"
Me: "I did. It was so good I'm reading it over again so I can take in the smaller details this time."
I'm so excited, I'm getting the UK adult version (with the slytherin locket on the cover). I also realized what Harry is reaching for on the cover of the US version.

For me, rereading will have to wait (unfortunately )...I've put off the work I was planning on doing this summer long enough, and I have a test in less than two weeks that I haven't started studying for
All in all, though....I LOVED the book! My mom couldn't believe that I finished it as fast as I did

My fiancee said the same thing to me also about re-reading the book a second time.
So what do you think is happening on the US cover? My mom and I talked about it, but really had no idea.
