My feeling is that this whole issue is something best ignored by the greek community. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.
I guarantee you -- if greek organizations circulate petitions and cause a big stir regarding this show, we run the risk of the media picking that issue up. If the media covers our objections, that'll more than likely translate into ratings for this show.
Best to just sit back and let the show die a slow, quiet death.

I can assure you that the slow death will happen if the rest of the season is anything like the pilot. Jesus...download it from itunes for the lulz.

The sorority was doing a fake recruitment workshop that basically centered around (omg last season prada shoes, obviously borrowed from a friend she has no money cut her) designer clothes. Then the sorority president says 'you've all done well. Now how about we go do some philanthropy work down at the senior center. [pause]just kidding, get your ID or fake ID and meet me at [local college bar].'
This show is so dumb it's almost offensive but then you just have to laugh instead because it's so ridiculous. I actually encourage PNMs to watch this show, believe that this is all greek life is and come through recruitment. God knows we could all use the laugh.

The show has already aired on TV? From your synopsis it sounds pretty stupid. Yes, I will be interested to see if any PNMs actually bring this show up during recruitment. lol.

You guys realize this is a satire, right? It's not supposed to be all that realistic.
And judging from how heavily they've been promoting it everywhere, I doubt they're going to just let it die easily. Who knows though.

It's not actually a satire. It would actually have to have a point.

I watched it on Itunes... I lol'd. It was fairly ridiculous and I don't feel like it's worth my personal effort to try and get it canceled.

Having actually watched the show now, I agree completely. It will be more than a waste of time to protest -- it's simply not worth it, and it just makes the protesters look stupid and risks more publicity for the show. And as a great circus master once said, there is no such thing as bad publicity.
It's a TV show, a work of fiction. Unlike that MTV schlock, it doesn't make any claims to be an accurate portayal of Greek life anywhere. Alexandra Robbins isn't the producer. It's just entertainment. I was in college when Animal House came out. While it certainly spawned renewed interest in toga parties, anybody with half a brain understood that it was just a movie, not a documentary, and not to be taken too seriously.
And okay, I'll admit it -- I laughed much more than I thought I would. Not just at the crazy inaccuracies -- I nearly spit my drink out when the main character spouted that all-but-3-presidents-since-1825 garbage. Yes, there were way too many Animal House rips, but still, it had some very funny moments.

Personally, I liked the Dale, the roommate:
Look, you came to college to have some fun,
and join a fraternity,
and sin in the eyes of God.

Why does the "Southern" roommate not have an accent????
I love Calvin "Rosenberg" Owens and Cappy!!!
I'm liking this show way more than I should.

I loved the show hahaha I was offended at the beginning with the rush workshop but after it got past that it was hilarious. Dale rocks my world lol. And any PNM that is stupid enough to let some sitcom influence their decision isnt someone you want as a brother or a sister anyway...you dont need people that moronic in your house.

i loved it in a guilty pleasure kind of way. sadly, this is kind of what i thought greek life was like before i wen to college. overall, it was silly and not real, and hopefully people will get that. a lot of it seemed to be over-cheesed for the cameras anyway!
