living arrangements

Just a quick question that's been bugging me... after you're officially a member of a sorority, do you move into their house or do you live in your dorm for the rest of the year and move in the next year? Or does it depend on you? I was wondering because if my roomate decided not to rush and I did, I'd feel bad for leaving them in the middle of the year.

Depends on the school. I don't know enough about Penn State but there are a lot of GC'ers from Penn, maybe one of them can explain the system to you.

Typically you will wait until your sophomore year if you are a freshman to move into the house. If you're a sophomore, I'm not sure, depends on the school, residence hall requirements, leases, and if the house is at capacity.

The sororities all have floors on residence halls instead of houses and it discusses this a little. I think that it probably depends on which group and whether or not the hall is full.

Penn State does not have any sorority houses, there are sorority "suites" which are basically dorm floors. I think you have to live there for a year while you're at Penn State. Something like that, I'm not completely sure.
