RIGHT! Salter was his mother's maiden name. A daughter of
Bill's wrote the TEKE mag years ago correcting the long-used
William L Wilson moniker. The L persisted many, many years,
and even Dr. William Van "Suits" Muse overlooked it when he
re-wrote the TEKE GUIDE. And even the latest TEKE GUIDE
has Wilson as William L. I have sent in the correction to HQ
and perhaps it may eventually be amended. There was little
attention to scholarship in the past thirty years in Indy, and
perhaps this insensitivity will cease.
Wilson rarely, if ever, used the initial in his signature.. But he
did have a middle name, as did virtually all the Teke leaders
'cept Rodney Williams, Jr & Miles Gray so far as I know.
