But...to quote one of the guys who went through my mom's office for treatment:

"What's the fun in drinking if you're not going to play 'which headlights are the real ones'?"

Exactly - as someone who was just hit and seriously injured by a drunk driver in the last 10 days, I'm amazed people don't think before they get into a car and drive.

Don't know if you mentioned that before, but if you did I missed it. I'm glad you're ok.

It's not that hard to find someone who's not going to drink to drive for you. A lot of bars give DDs free soda or even food! Put the taxi company's phone number on your cell phone, give your keys away, anything that makes you less likely to drink and drive.

Glad you're still with us. As much as I get pissed at our legislators/local officials for turning DUIs into a cottage industry for their campaign contributors (by sending you specifically to their buddy's private weekend lockup, drug/alcohol screening/assessment/driving class/community service...) , the fact is that it is a serious crime.

99 times out of 100 you don't hurt anyone.. but that 100th time could involve your death or someone else's death. All things considered, why do it?

Exactly - and if we weren't in such a good car, I can't imagine what would have happened. The vehicle saved our lives, and honestly, the guy who hit us is lucky he's not staring at vehicular homicide.

People forget that when you make a decision like that, you affect a whole lot of other people besides yourself. I'm not going to get on a soapbox, because I'm too close to the situation and probably could not speak intelligently on it at this point.

I will say, though, that it puts the stress of finals into a different light.

Yes, she's that stupid and she deserves everyday she received in jail. The sad thing is, once she gets out she'll probably repeat the same dumb azz behavior!

dayum shame she got a reduced sentence and not being tucked in with the general population....well hey....if Martha Stewart can do it......

(side note: anybody remember whne they was about to lock her away, Martha compared her surviving 5 months to Mandela's jail time...? That was just the funniest thing... )

i know it says she is going to be in a separate section, but it is also the same section they put police officers, etc... even if she isnt really a celeb, lord knows what would happen to her in the regular part. she still has to abide by the regular rules, she is just in a separate place. i just hope she'll put a few pounds on while shes in there!

oh, and i wonder if she can get that girl to double for her that took her place on "the simple life" that time lol

News in Brief
Fri May 18, 1:15 PM ET, E! Online
Party Foul: Zeta Graff has issued a statement questioning Paris Hilton's ability to maintain her busy social schedule when she is supposedly too emotionally fragile to deal with the $10 million slander suit against her. "If Ms. Hilton was nightclubbing on Saturday night, she should not have been representing to the court on Monday morning that she was unable to participate in the trial," Graff said.

In Hawai'i, each driver must have their no-fault insurance card while operating the vehicle.

I got pulled over once and had an expired card. It had only been two days, but I just forgot to replace it with the new one. The cop said that all I had to do was show up to court on the date listed on the ticket and bring in my new no-fault insurance card to show to the judge that I was covered.

Even though I knew that my ticket was going to be thrown out (which eventually happened), just getting ready for court, waiting for your name to be called, and having to stand before a judge is pretty intimidating.

In this week's US Weekly poll, it was mentioned that Paris Hilton supporter Spencer Pratt was collecting signatures for her pardon!?!? Who recognizes that name?

I have no sympathy for her. Don't give me the "I didn't know my license was suspended bullshit". When you get your license pulled, you know it! Hell, you are probably counting the days till it is reinstated!

I know this might show my age a little, but she kinda reminds me of "Queen of Mean" Leona Helmsley. "Only Little People Pay taxes" Except she is like, "Only little people go to jail" Good ol' Leona went right to the slammer and I hope Paris does too

Suck it up heffa! Take it like a woman, put on your big girl panties and deal with it!

Hello...we all know he has ulterior motives.

Move up the slut socialite chain. Today, the MTV Reality Hoez. Tomorrow, the slutty billionaire heiress.
