Was in East Lansing tonight...

(Michigan State Spartans - won the national championship in college hockey tonight. Whoo hoo. )

Drove by our house (it will always be our house no matter who lives there...especially since Emily Helen Butterfield designed it) to show my kids where I lived for the majority of my college career. It was so sad to see AOPi's letters on the house.

I know I should be glad that AOPi is leasing the house from us - at least they are likely to take good care of it, so that it will be in good condition when we're ready to come back to campus. (The former Phi Mu house, which was near us, is currently occupied by Pikes. I can only imagine how long it will take those guys to trash what once was a beautiful house. No offense to the guys, of course, but...at least on MSU's campus...every fraternity house gets trashed.)

Still though - it was a bitter pill to swallow to see another sorority's letters on my chapter's house. I had purposely avoided it on previous trips to EL, but this was my kids first trip to MSU's campus and I wanted to show them all the parts that were most important to me.

Sorry for the board crash, but know that we are thrilled to have your former chapter house! I've heard nothing but good things about it.

How long has your chapter been off campus?!? I was a SigEp at MSU and my sister was an Alpha Gam. I had some great friends in your house back in the day.

I just saw this response for some reason. Was your sister an Alpha Gam at MSU? If she was active any time in the 90s, I might have known her. When were you at MSU? If you were a SigEp there in the early to mid 90s, I might have met you at least once or twice too.

The chapter officially closed in 2002, I think. (Maybe 2001? I just remember that it was before I got married.)
