House & Freestyle

Calling out all the old skool heads (and Midwesterners ), who here is caught up in House and Freestyle as much as I am. I'm from the Chi, the birthplace of House, so it's only natural that I like it! My uncles were Dj's back in the days and they played house to no end!

Some notable favorites:
Aly-Us, "Follow Me"
LOADS OF CAJMERE http://www.myspace.com/cajmere there's the link to listen to his music.
'Fantasy Girl"
"THe Love I lost"
"Love train"
Jungle Brothers, "I'll house you"
Fast Eddie, "Hip House"
Stardust, "Music sounds better with you"
SoHo, "Hot Music"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STKumE0iBhM A sample of Old School House

Post some more...if ya can remember!

I think everyone has their own version of house, when people say House here in the Chi, they tend to mean Old School perculator house and ghetto (juke and footwork) house, 'Classics' refer to early house, early 80's.

It varies, i've been to clubs here where the DJ was playing "house" and it sounded like trance (which made me sit down), NY i know thinks of house as the latter.

The Paradox is still open??? Wow we used to get our groove on to house music back in the day there (1991-1994). I think that is the first place I heard "It's time for the Percolator" . When I came home and requested it DJ's would look @ me & go "huh?"....

1/LETS GET BRUTAL
2/WERE ROCKIN DOWN THE HOUSE
3/JACK YOUR BODY
4/MOVE YOUR BODY
5/I WANNA GO BANG
6/FRENCH KISS ****ah yes...song used to change tempo went from fast to slow and fast again
7/BREAK 4 LOVE***another good one
8/PARTY PEOPLE
9/GIRL ILL HOUSE YOU
10/CAN YOU PARTY
11/TRY YAZZ
12/WORK IT TO THE BONE***another good one
13/LETS GO
14/DO IT PROPERLY
15/MAKE MY BODY ROCK
16/WEEKENDS
17/GOOD LIFE****love this one
18/YOU USED TO HOLD ME ***love this one
19/OPENING MELODY
20/THIS IS ACID***love this song
21/NO WAY BACK
22/HOUSE NATION

LOL....this takes me back

to when me and my friends would sneak into the old Generator (knowing good and well we were underage)

I grew up on House Music....I remember seeing the old signs tied to the streetlight posts advertising parties @ the Bismark and my sister and cousins would go to parties at Mendel or Whitney Young.
