I have to say that this is really creepy. I totally understand getting to hold your baby after it dies, but taking it home? Sleeping with it? The really creepy thing is that their oldest kid was 5 at the time.

That's so fucked up I don't even know where to start.

There was also a huge stink when the public got wind that even though they all lived in Virginia, since their "official" residence was that home in Penn Hills, the Penn Hills school district had to pay a bazillion dollars for the Santorum clan's cyber schooling.

She's crying because if she walks around Penn Hills dressed like that she is going to get beat up.

We'll see. They are politicians after all. But I mostly agree.

Maybe a mistake was made in VA:
Maybe a mistake was made in VA:
From a Washington Post profile of Virginia's Sen.-elect Jim Webb:
At a recent White House reception for freshman members of Congress, Virginia's newest senator tried to avoid President Bush. Democrat James Webb declined to stand in a presidential receiving line or to have his picture taken with the man he had often criticized on the stump this fall. But it wasn't long before Bush found him.
"How's your boy?" Bush asked, referring to Webb's son, a Marine serving in Iraq.
"I'd like to get them out of Iraq, Mr. President," Webb responded, echoing a campaign theme.
"That's not what I asked you," Bush said. "How's your boy?"
"That's between me and my boy, Mr. President," Webb said coldly, ending the conversation on the State Floor of the East Wing of the White House.

A mistake? While not the politest remark I completely understand the sentiment.
His son will not be safe until he's home.
If VA wanted the GOP Senator, they'd have voted for him.

As a Virginian who voted for Webb, I have to say that his comments to Bush make me even more certain that Virginia chose the right man.

I agree with you Drolefille.
Was father talking about private, personal, family matters. Just happened to be speaking with POTUS with a reporter in the area.
I do have to wonder just where the "campaign" speech spin came from.

Do they actually ask to see "proof of citizenship"? I heard from some P.I. guy that you didn't, although maybe things have tightened up, given the events of 9-11, etc.
FWIW: wimpy Canada does not ask for proof of citizenship when you vote. SCARY!!
