WELCOME to GC, so.caliAXO!
We are glad to have you here! The trip sounds awesome!
About your grandma, I am so sorry that she was put into a home. I would definitely get some pictures together for her, and put them in a large frame (one for the wall if they allow that) - nothing grandparents like more than talking about their grandkids! If possible, add names on each picture - it will help her and others as they come to visit her and chat about the pictures.
Another idea - depending on her mental ability - is to make her an "Everyday I Love You" jar. Just cut strips of paper out, write a quote, poem, a fun memory with her, etc. and then fold them up. Put them all in the jar (can be a candy jar, small plastic container, etc.) and tell her that every day, she can pull one out and read it and think of you.

Hey Karen!
Would it make you feel any better if I said that in 1989 I graduated from college (two years BEHIND schedule) and was already 24 years old at that point?
No?
OK then, right now I am going to open up a big tub of Ben and Jerry's Minter Wonderland, and you're invited to share it with me. Seriously, that's my final offer!
How the heck ARE you sweetie? I still miss our chats and wish the AXO website had its chatroom like the old days...I hope you are well!

Hi all - it has been awhile! But ya'll know I have to check in about this time every year to see what is happening in those recruitment threads...I do love them!
Lows: Summer is about over and school will be starting in a few short weeks which means I have to go back to work!
I'm really worried about one of my sisters!
Highs: My niece will (hopefully) be joining a sorority at Clemson, so I'm really excited for her and can't wait to see where she ends up!
I'm hopefully taking a trip to Chicago next month! I love the Windy City!
