I love my professors so far...However, I had a question...
I'm probably studying somewhere between 4-7 hours a day (in my third week) and sometimes I feel like its not enough. I'm grasping all the material pretty well, but I still have free time, and I figured I wouldnt. However, one of my friends who just graduated in May says that its probably normal for now, and that basically for the first couple months I'm mostly just preparing to not get shamed during class. He said it'll ramp up when I have more to go back and study, and when exams draw nearer. Can anyone confirm/deny?

Your friend is absolutely correct.
I remember being out at a restaurant during my first week of law school, thinking HOLY CRAP WHAT AM I DOING HERE I SHOULD BE STUDYING RIGHT NOW OMG I'M GOING TO FAIL. Yeah, I didn't fail. You'll be fine. Seriously, there is no reason to be worried about it.
Just make sure to MAKE YOUR OWN OUTLINES.

This was true in my case. The stress really picked up around week 13 when I was putting together the rest of my outlines, doing alot of sample essays and supplementing the course material. And the real panic is the last week before finals. One tip told to me by a 2L: minimize your contact with classmates the last couple of weeksbecause they will stress you out more than you need to be.

Opi is so right. I avoided my friends/classmates like the plague....except for my study group, but even then we cooled it a few days before.
My biggest thing- not talking to people after the exam. I walked right out and into my car. I usually exercised after or ate something bad, then went back to studying. YOu do need to decompress after exams and do not need extra stress.

Barbri...LOL. There's this saying I heard during law school (I'm paraphrasing) that the LSAT has nothing to do with law school, law school has nothing to do with how to pass the bar and all of those don't have squat to do with practicing law. So far I'd have to say I agree all of it.

Speaking of gang bangs...I heard that one of our male professors slept with a student back in the day, now they're married with a kid.
Supposedly one of our prof's has a mail order bride from Russia.
Supposedly one of our prof's found out her husband (who worked at another law school in our town) was cheating on her with one of his students. She went to his classroom, during the class he had his mistress in, and she served him his divorce papers.
Doubt any of this stuff is true, but those are the funniest stories I've heard. Post your best professor gossip here!

To all the future applicants out there - I have now heard from two admissions reps who say their schools will do online searches on students, and that anything really questionable found on Facebook and MySpace will be considered with everything else. Not necessarily a make or break, but another piece of info to use in the process.
So - if you don't want it out there, don't put it online.
