Posts in the wrong forums...

Hi everyone,

I just saw the "Depressing" post.

We went through this a while back and it was the consensus that this kind of post...

What do you think of XYZ sorority/fraternity...

XYZ's on your campus...

How about XYZ...

...should go under the GLO Specific forums listed on the first page of GreekChat under the General topics.

For those of you who are newer members, the reasons we came to this conclusion were all of the ones mentioned in the "Depressing Post" and more.

This was not a rule, just a common sense mutual agreement. I still think it's a good idea.

Can we get back to that?

Thanks,

I'm not trying to disagree with you but I can see why people would post the "what's XYZ like" in the general forum as opposed to the GLO specific one. For the most part the most frequent visitors seem to be only members of that specific organization. I know I rarely visit forums of GLO's other than mine own. By posting in the general forum you can see what people, other than your own members, think about your organization at more of a variety of campuses. Granted it does require maturity on the part of the individuals posting and reading the posts.

Like I said, I'm not disagreeing with you but I can see why it happens.

Hi Heather,

That's kind of the point. There are so many they kind of overwhelm the main page of Greek Life and force some threads which might be of more interest to everyone down to the bottom.

It's easy to say, "Just ignore them," but that doesn't cure this problem.

Feel free to disagree anytime.

Also, you can check for active threads every day and if you have a burning desire to reply to them you can. I often visit other GLO's forums.

Plus, it takes a lot of balls to say "XYZ is a bunch of ho's!!" on their own forum. (Which is also part of the point.)
