Ouch - Lady in the Water received 9% from Rotten Tomatoes

Link

Looks like the consensus says that the movie sucked. I'll see it anyway since I'm a big M. Night fan.

I've not seen it, but IMO, M. Night's movies have gotten progressively worse. The Sixth Sense was pretty good. Fast forward to The Village... well, it wasn't worth the ticket $$.

I'll wait for Lady to come out on video, if I even watch it then.

I somewhat agree. While I still enjoyed The Village, I found that it was too predictable. I had figured out about 1/4 of a way into the movie. I think is formula is making his movies too similar. There's no suspense anymore.
I'll probably see this one when it comes out on DVD.

I'm sorry but Lady in the Water can't be all THAT great if it is a PG-13 movie. They try to make the previews uber spooky and they at the end its rated PG-13....wtf?

What is the movie about anyways? The previews confuse me, is it about the big bad wolf? Is it about werewolves? Is it about a "lady in the water"? I don't get it! lol.

Its supposedly a fantasy. I think the idea is that the girl gets stuck in our world from the "fairy" world and so do all the other things.

It wasn't supposed to be as creepy as the others, though I wasn't scared by The Village or Signs so I may not be the target audience.

Shamalan's movies are all.. plot plot plot TWIST SHOCKING TWIST plot.. in my opinion...

Since M. Night Shyamalan writes, directs and produces all of his work (and also makes appearances), and the last few movies have, well, sucked, do you think it's time for him to direct other people's work?

I think he needs his ego knocked down a few notches. Yeah he can be awesome, but I think it's gone to his head. I think directing someone elses work would be good, or anything that gives him less control over everything.

But then, he's making millions (albeit by hearing voices) and I'm not so... I guess he's doing ok.

Directing someone else's work would not give him any less "power."

Someone else should direct his work.

I actually think he needs a big box office failure... and then start over.

Yes, but I still think it would be better for someone else to direct his work, as opposed to him directing someone else's work.

Yeah but when's he gonna sell a script without keeping creative control?

/probably when he steps up to direct someone else's script...

The writers still have input.

Ok, nevermind. You're right.

I'm the complete opposite. I HATED the Sixth Sense...about 40 minutes into it, I had figured out the big twist. Unbreakable was slightly better, Signs was good, and The Village was excellent.

I have high hopes about Lady in the Water, but I may just rent it. There are so many other movies to see!
