Today I got an e-mail via myspace from someone I didn't know. Looked @ the pic by the note - looked like a nice guy holding two kids about 7-9 years old...smiling family portrait. The content of the e-mail itself is VILE...basically a question about what sorts of intimate activities I enjoy. So I click on the guys profile...it's so benign...talks about what a great single dad he is, how inspired he was by the example his father set...he's a CHRISTIAN...only been in love one time, blah, blah, blah.

I'm so pissed. So first, I just blocked him. But I cannot stand the thought that this dude is out there, and really want to post the text of the e-mail, including a link to his profile, in my blog.

Talk me out of it...I'm sure the ignore function is best...I don't need cyber-harassment, but there is absolutely NOTHING about my myspace that would suggest I would welcome such an e-mail (not to mention my profile pic is of the DH and me...). Seriously. WTF is wrong with people????
Of course any normal person would just ignore the guy...

But there are communities and websites dedicated to internet faggotry at its best.

I know LiveJournal has their MySpace Drama community, but I'm sure there are many others out there. You'd be surprised as to how PUBLIC these pervs get...so much so that it comes back to haunt them. Sometimes they need embarassment to finally get a clue.

Good one. Hopefully the block function will work & I won't get anything else like that. I wish there was a way to set it up so you can only get messages from people you know. I'm just ooged out that the guy has kids (assuming, of course, that the pic & profile are for a real person...I realize it could just be some loon...). I'm not getting into any drama & won't respond or mention it in my blog....

Latest MTV Fishing Expedition

It has been brought to my attention that the message below is being sent to members of myspace groups. Looks like MTV is having a hard time coming up with original storylines.

Hi there:
I'm a Casting Director at MTV News & Docs and were developing a new show about initiations that will feature entertaining stories about amusing rites of passage into clubs and teams around the country. Were not looking for tales of anything that even remotely resembles hazing, rather were out to find some good old-fashioned hilarity. And, whether you played chess or rugby, were in a fraternity or the marching band, I'd love to hear about your funny initiations.

Our show will recreate the real-life experiences as told by the very people who live through the late-night kidnappings, messy missions and the occasional run-ins with cops or school administrations. Well hear from those that plan and plot the adventures and those who are forced to participate.

If you have or know of any juicy or funny stories that scream to be told from the recent past, check out MTV's Casting Call website or just e-mail directly at brooke.balick@mtvnmix.com. And, of course, feel free to pass this e-mail on to anyone else that may have some kind of initiation story to tell!

Best,
Brooke Balick

The new round of "profile trackers"

Relax, no new codes that I know of. Free ones, anyway.

But last night, in the span of about an hour, my bulletin box was inundated with the same post regarding profile trackers.

It was a link in a bulletin that took you to a page, which then instructed you to repost that crap in a bulletin with the promise that you'd get the code within 12 hours. On that page were ads and links up the yin yang.

Now, I get the feeling that this new "tracker" doesn't really work and that whoever created that site is making bank based on the hits that one site's getting.

Does anyone know for a fact if it works or not? Who else is annoyed by all these freaking bulletins?

And regarding paid trackers, yes...there's a few out there that still work, but I don't know why anyone would fork over $$$ if Tom's just gonna block the code again. Apparently some dude name Terikan's unloading them one by one, so when Tom blocks a code, he'll have another one ready.

And all of this can be yours for $5.

The new code on profilesnoop is working again. I reinstalled it yesterday & today, I saw the 11 people who looked at my page.

bulletin spam

I'm really getting irked by al of the bulletin spam....

You know what I mean -- those copied/pasted posts about how if you post it in your own bulletin, you will have good luck for 54789062 years or your true love will ask you to marry them or something.

Seriously people! I know you're more intelligent than that

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'm also sick of the ones that say if you don't repost this in 2 minutes, seconds, hours, etc. YOU WILL DIE! No joke b/c so-and-so knew a person who's friend had a sister that died.
Come on. Those stupid bulletins are LAME!

Mine isn't showing me who has looked, just that someone looked at a specific time. First I had it set up to show their picture, and I'd click on the link that said "no image" and it'd go to a myspace page that says "invalid user". So I took off the picture option, and now it just says "0".

A question about myspace groups. I administer my sorority's group and I made it private so only members can post bulletins and stuff on it. However, non-members can still read our topics and discussions and stuff. Is there any way to make it private so that only group members can read it? The only way I found was to make the group hidden, but I don't wanna do that because I want alumnae to be able to find us, and if I make it hidden, then they can't request to join the group.

How do you insert an image into someone's myspace comments section? I keep trying and it's just doing the link...
