Smile maized and cornfused(group 8)

Hey guys!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We just got back from break here at Clemson, and and back into classes again.
We just had initiation tonight. I was wondering if anyone has any special traditions for new sisters. We have our mc class do a song for the sisters after the ceremony. Our new sisters did an awesome job this year, it was really cute. What do ya'll do?

HI. This is Nicole from Sigma. As for traditions with our MC's we don't really do anything as part of the ceremony. We just started an MC quilt though. Each MC class will make a quilt. each individual MC will make a square that represents themselves. the middle square will have there class name, etc. The president will keep the quilt until the first member of the class gets married then its passed to her. She will then pass it to the first in her class to have a baby. Then that sister will pass it to the next to have a baby and so on with the last person in the class to have a baby keeping the quilt. we thought this was a good way to get people to keep in touch.

Question monthly reports

We need to send a report in every month to nationals, about what we're doing with SOS. Do you want each chapter to take a turn sending in the report? Tau could do it one month, Lambda the next, Zeta the next, etc? Let me know what you think about that!
The idea about the quilt is a really cute idea! How loong have ya'll been doing that?

We actually just started the quilt this semester. We got the idea from one of the other chapters at national convention. I'm not sure which one, however. We're hoping it works out really well though.

Hey Guys!
Sorry I haven't been posting any messages (I was doing it for a while then I got hung up on other stuff)! Anyway, we've also been doing a quilt (for several years now). It's a great project and at each banquet we hang all of the quilts on the walls. We also have a class project (each class does something for the chapter). We've had classes make display table cloths (for when we have information tables), sandwhich boards, and a big chapter IV book.

Also, I submitted a report a couple of months ago (there wasn't much on it as you probably could guess). So, we definitely need a schedule!

Hey Again!
Do any of you sponsor any type of scholarships (e.g. high schools, FFA chapters, etc.)? If so, what do you do?

Hey! I was just looking through y'all's thread and I wanted to comment on the scholarship post. I was thinking about it and I think that giving a scholarship to a high school student (female of course) would be a really good way to recruit girls. You could possibly even get a sponsor to match any funds that the chapter comes up with.

Philanthropy

Hey Ladies-

Just wondering what you're planning for philanthropy projects this semester? If you need some ideas for the National Philanthropy project- which entails that you have to do something to help educate school-age children about agriculture, just let me know.

Take care.

Sisters,
Robin
