Yeah...I like shorter boards for both surfing and snowboarding. I've got the 6'6'' for the water and the 154 for the snow. I don't think you'll be doing tricks but a shorter board lets you if you want to do that.

I'm a skier and I took snowboarding lessons. It's quite different but on the 2nd lesson, I had the "breakthrough".

Enjoy...you'll love it!

Two of my bros were pro snowboarders. Pretty cool huh? One I didn't know well, he was never around. But the other was my roommate. He use to get boards, clothes and other stuff sent to him all the time. It was sick. Anyways, we use to rent big cabins out in Arrowhead and do chapter retreats there. Almost everyone snowboarded while me and a select few bros and girls (we included girls in our retreats har har har) stayed at the cabin and played reindeer games.

You ever wakeboard? Back when I was in HS, my friends had a house over at Bass Lake and we use to do that. I had a bad experience skimming my toe, so I have vowed never to do it again

I don't snowboard (heck, it's amusing enough for the onlookers when I'm skiing!), but my daughters started it this winter and they really love it.

Give it a try; what do you have to lose?

I have been boarding for about two years and I love it. Grew up near the mountains and had never gone up until season before last.

Now I'm hooked......

Won't see me doing tricks though.

I live less than 30 minutes from several ski resorts and have never gone snowboarding in a conventional sense. I have, however, taken an old longboard, greased up the bottom, and ridden that down a hill. "snow surfing," we called it, and lord, was it dangerous.

Gosh, I would do anything to live near a ski resort -- really jealous! I really wish that I learned how to snowboard -- this game is really getting me into it...the tricks and stunts looks really fun. Too bad that it is getting warm out or I would try to drive up to New England and get myself started but it looks like I will be sticking to Amped 3 which is by all means fine by me
