Penn State student falls 5 stories

Check this out. Some genius at Penn State was at a dorm party. The cops broke up the party so this kid tied a bunch of sheets together and he tried climbing down from the 6th floor. He made it to the 5th floor before he fell..

Penn State Student Critically Injured After Fall

(AP) STATE COLLEGE A Penn State student was critically injured when he fell about five stories while trying to climb down a makeshift rope as police were busting an underage drinking party in a campus dormitory Friday night, authorities said.

Ryan P. Walton, 19, of Harleysville, was flown to Altoona Hospital's trauma center, where he was listed in critical condition Saturday.

Police said Walton had tied a bedspread and sheet together and tried to climb down from a sixth-story window while university police officers were questioning partygoers in another room about noise from the party.

Walton did not make it past the fifth floor before falling about 55 feet, landing on a combination of grass, dirt and gravel and sustaining significant internal injuries, according to the university.

"Our main concern is the student's health and well-being," said Penn State spokesman Bill Mahon. "We hope he does well and recovers."

Officers found large quantities of alcohol and more than two dozen people in the housing area, the university said in a release.

Today's paper was depressing. Here's the other tragedies that were in the paper today. Very, very unusual.

I doubt that this is hazing. Just plain illegal.

The line would be clever if the kid wasn't in critical condition.

We should just hope he survives.

I too hope He survives, while not illegal, just plain Stoopid!

While the line may seem harsh, it does prove a point!

Will The Dorm Get On Probation, will it be closed, or will the School just say "Oh, it was an accident" and it goes away?

The dorm doesn't have a charter to revoke and no national organization to report to. The administration might crack down on alcohol in the dorms, though.

It's likely that the university will get sued -- for allowing the window to open or having weak sheets or something. Or for not stopping underage drinking.

It's hard to win.

I would still like to see the beer drinking age lowered to 18.

Problem is that if it were, kids would get fake ID's for wine and liquor.

Like we did when I was ninteen.
