How to make your own ringtones

Okay, thought I would help some people out cause a lot of people are asking me how to make your own ringtones.
These are an idea on how to do it so that it is FREE and you can have whatever you want. HOWEVER I only know Motorola phones, although I am sure that other phones have the same basic principles.

There are three softwares you will need to make a ringtone for your MOTOROLA phone- off ebay get the Mobile Phone Tools- just look for motorola disc or whatever.. its usually a dollar- two at most.
You also need someplace to download your music from- in MP3 format. I use limewire. It's free, fast and they have what I like.
The last software is WAVEPAD.

Okay install the mobile phone tools.
Use your website to download the song you want- I will use an example- my father's ringtone is the theme from GODFATHER, so I downloaded it.
Open that file in WAVEPAD and get the section you want- 20-30 seconds is all you need. You can edit parts of the song together, too or apart. For instance for some of my friends I have GOLDDIGGER and i have the part with jamie foxx singing as well as kanye, then i go to the part that is the bridge.
Anyway, edit it down to those 20-30 seconds. THis is an easy program, just highlight what you want to get rid of and press delete.
Save the file as an MP3. Then go into the phone tools and transfer in the multimedia studio. You just find the ringtone you just made and transfer it over. Viola... you now have ringtones.

I have eight or nine 20-30 second ones on my phone before the memory was full for it. My boyfriend has a trio and i make them and send them to him and he uploads them using his software.

If anyone has questions or problems feel free to let me know- just thought i would try and post something useful.

Or go to www.mobile17.com. You can upload pictures and mp3s onto your phone.

It's free, but you have to wait a few minutes usually.
