Just genuinely interested. I deduced that you were still undergrad, but just wondering if you were a sophomore or a senior, ever served on the executive council of your chapter, etc.

Oh they do. It's happened at the school I went to.

Someone says he likes hazing on the interweb and a chapter somewhere will be investigated as a result? That's jacked.

Hee. I love Jay-Z but I'd have to go with Nas. One Mic is the greatest song of all time.

I think if a district/international officer saw something like that repeatedly, it wouldn't necessary start an investigation, but it would put the chapter on their "radar" as one to keep an eye on.

I see what you're saying, but really, I could create 12 fake internet identities right now and make posts about how I'm a member of whatever at Backass U and here's how we haze, blah blah blah.

And yes, there has been a State Senator from SAE UT that has helped in some situations.

Not naive at all. Powerful alums can mean a lot of things. For example, we have a chapter here in Oklahoma that had a hazing issue in the mid 90's. It was not something that the school prosecuted -- the alums did. That door swings both ways. These are the guys that donate money to the chapter. To the chapter's existance, and to their huge financial stake, you as an individual don't mean a damned thing, nor does any active member of your chapter. Your duty is to them.
Don't be foolish with that responsibility.

are you talking about when SAE got kicked off after their rooftop incident? maybe not, but I know that that issue was somewhat involved with the school because we all heard that he kid went to the campus police after he got out of the house.

Yep, I understand that too. That's why it would just put a chapter on the radar and we'd watch closely for more signs.
