And my misadventures continue...
Well, girls, I just got back home from urgent care. Last night I was making dinner and I spilled a pot of scalding hot liquid all over my left hand. I'm a lefty, so that makes things even worse as I hunt and peck all over this keyboard w/1 hand.
Like a fool, I didn't go to the emergency room last night, and instead was up all night soaking my hand in cold water. At 3 am, Sean was nearly scraping me off the ceiling when he tried to put some burn ointment on my hand. Excruciating is a good word to describe it. I finally gave up this morning and went in when my left thumb swelled up to about 2x the size of the other one.
So here I am, with a second degree burn on my hand and wondering why I've even bothered getting out of bed these last few days. Ever had one of those weeks?
Just wanted to share, LOL.

Maria,
Sorry to hear about your fortune!
Definitely take it easy and rest. This will all eventually pass and your hand will be back to the way it was.

I am sorry that happend! I burn myself by accident all the time but luckly never that bad. Rest you hand and be careful! With all that use of the right hand you will become a righty before you know it.

Everyone, thank you for your lovely get-well wishes! My hand is already much better, the swelling is down. My thumb has turned this odd purplish/red color, but heck, it matches the color of my turtleneck today.
And things are looking up for me because I am petsitting this week for my boss' Chihuahua, who honest to God may be the greatest dog EVER. Even as I type, Pumpkin is on my desk napping in her little bed with her beanie baby right next to her.
Between all of you and the puppy, my outlook has improved immensely. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Maria,
Same here! Glad your feeling better
BTW,
when I was going through cornea transplant recovery two years ago my parents got me a jack russell terrier(teddy) and that was a big help to my healing process. Dogs are great during those times. Just thought I'd share that.
