I haven't heard of any outbreaks on my campus, and considering the cost of the shot, I don't plan on getting one unless there is an outbreak (and hopefully it wouldn't start with me being exposed to it ).
Hey justamom!!! I just read in the Reveille this morning that another student died at Tulane of meningitis. I believe it happened over the weekend. I would definitely tell your daughter to go get the shot just to be on the safe side.

No one has died at LSU from meningitis in the past few years. A girl at Tulane did last year, but they linked it to something else somehow. Forget what, exactly.
The tuition here is cheap, so they like to nickle and dime you to death...
I feel ya on that one. Our school is trying to do the same thing with the flu shot deal. I need some more proof before I am dishing out money for a shot.
