Anyone familiar with Dover, DE?
We're leaving for Delaware tomorrow morning to visit my husband's grandparents (flying into Baltimore, MD, and then driving to Dover). I've only been to Dover once before and never saw anything other than the hotel and his grandparents' house. Can anyone recommend restaurants and fun things to do in the area? We'd like to take them to dinner at least one night and also have a place to let our 16-month-old run around during the day if she gets tired of being in the house.
Thanks in advance!

Dover has a lot of Historical Significance (my Mother lives in Wilmington). There may be a lot of great restauants along the main street. Remember on Sundays Delaware is dry (no Alcohol) so buy your liquor on Sat.
For fun events for younger people, I would suggest going to Philadelphia, Honestly.

Thanks for the info! I had looked online for some restaurants, but didn't get very far. We'll check out the main street area and see what we come across.
I did find a note on the online community calendar about a story time for toddlers at the local library on Friday morning, so I may take my little DZ legacy down there.

What time is your flight getting in? If you try to cross from MD to DE any time near rush hour, it's going to suck. If you arrive during rush hour, I suggest finding a restaurant or a mall and waiting a while.
You can always gamble in Dover.

Our flight in arrives at 11 AM, so hopefully the drive won't be too bad.

The main and probably only attraction in Dover is Dover Downs racetrack and slots. There are a couple of malls. Dover Mall and Cristiana Mall.

I was in Dover a couple years ago visiting my friend while she was doing her Americorps stint. There was a museum at the capital building and there's a Deleware State Store. I got a shirt that says "Del-a-where?" I love that shirt. Other than that, we drove far far far away to do anything fun. We went to Philly and Virginia Beach. So, not much actually to do in Dover. We did go to the library though.
Bobby, I totally missed the joke. Thanks for pointing it out!
