7 of my FAVORITE things...
1. From the original seven until now, we are women who aren't afraid to go against the grain. Even a dead fish can float with the stream.
2. No matter where I go, I have sisters.
3. Those oh so pretty colors!!!!
4. Have you ever seen the way a poodle struts? It is all in the carriage. Whether she is a standard or a toy, you'd just better step aside cause Ms. Thang KNOWS she is the bomb. They are just regal, intelligent creatures, that's all.
5. Sigma women are highly intelligent.
6. Sigma women are dynamic.
7. I just wanna say, have y'all seen HQ lately? That's a niiice building Where my checkbook at? I want some yellow roses all around the front...

1. I have to start with our 7 wonderful founders
2. Our Beautiful Royal blue and Antique Gold! The most striking and beautiful colors when paired together!
3. The fact that when people meet us they can say that we are the most beautiful sorors both outward and inward. (Seems as though we are creating our own "stereotype" beautiful, cool, and down to earth!
4. Wonderful National Programs designed to help the youth.
5. Sorors from all over that embrace you with a hug whenever they see you!
6. We choose Quality over Quantity
7. "Last Created, Best Designed"

Not a member of your organization...but I have observed some things that I find truly enlightening...
1. I love the fact that your national website was the only one of the sororities to have a Holiday Greeting when you clicked on it..
2. I think you were the first to put your national magazine online for EVERYONE to enjoy. Even if you aren't the first, I still like reading it...
3. Smaller numbers, but still doing your thing...
4. One of your sorority sisters is a good friend of mine, she inspires me to new heights and she loves her Sigma!
5. Project WeeSavers...what an awesome program! The entire community can benefit from this.
6. The celebration of your new headquarters...congratulations!
7. the elderly womann at my job who always says hello and then gets in her bangin Jag with her Sigma plates...

Thank you From the roots!! I appreciate your gracious comments coming from an outsider. I wonder if I know who that elderly Soror is with the bangin Jag?

Though I am not a member of Sigma Gamma Rho, I wanted to send some love...
Things I LOVE about Sigma....
1. Definitely the history...the circumstances by which an organization was founded has a great impact on its mission, vision and values. The fact that Sigma Gamma Rho was founded amidst the nadir (lowest point) of American race relations away from the "protection" of the black community speaks volumes about your founders' courage and foresight. You can see how this history plays out in the current administration of the national organization and affliate chapters.
2. Elite without being "elitist" - the Sigma women I've encountered are intelligent, hardworking and progress-minded but at the same time they really work for the good of the community and embody the principle of "lifting as we climb". I have yet to encounter a Sigma woman who made me feel like she was too good to interact with me because I am non-Greek.
3. Defying stereotypes, labels and boxes - Sigma women come in all shapes, sizes, skin colors and backgrounds. I've never heard anyone attribute a certain "look" to Sigma women because Sigma women are diverse.
4. Strong work ethic - As a supervisor for a staff of 10 workers, I appreciate how hard the Sigma woman I supervised worked, and took their jobs seriously. They handled business which in turn made me take a leap of faith and give them additional opportunities for advancement.
5. Collegiality - The Sigma women I worked with in #4 were always showing love to other Greeks even in the face of criticism about being small or founded later.
6. Education/Youth focused programming - Your founders obviously knew that educating our youth was the key to progress as a community. I'm impressed with how that legacy lives on at the national and local level.
7. Openness/Friendly nature - Most Sigma women I've encountered are just good down to earth folks that realize how you interact with people will reflect on how people view your organization in either a positive or negative way. Maybe the smaller numbers lends itself to treating people with respect instead of as a "number".
