Interesting Facts about the 12 Days of Christmas

12 Days of Christmas

I thought the golden rings would be a little higher.

Oh, that's cute. Though, I think the eight maids a milking are underpaid and should go on strike.

High on my list of "Most Annoying Songs Ever."

It takes the entire Christmas Season just to sing it once.

Oh, good! I thought this was going to be the old chestnut about The Twelves Days of Christmas being "code" for the persecuted Roman Catholic Church (disproved by snopes.com)!

Edited for punctuation.

That article really made me rather unhappy..."And perhaps those who consider this tale (regardless of its literal truth) to be "beautiful" and "inspirational" should consider its underlying message: that one group of Jesus' followers had to hide their beliefs in order to avoid being tortured and killed by another group of Jesus' followers. Of all the aspects of Christianity to celebrate at Christmastime, should this really be one of them?"

People did really bad things to each other! Let's pretend it never happened.
