GRE test ?s

So I took it once, and didn't do so well on the math section.....gonna have to take it again. So I'm posing some questions about your GRE experience(s).

1. How many times did you take the test?
2. Why did you take it more than once?
3. Advice for anybody taking it?

Thanks.

I don't have any advice for you, but I'd love to hear some I finally signed up, and I'm taking it on Nov. 21st. I'm pretty nervous because I haven't taken a standardized test in years, but I've done well on practice tests. Good luck

I took it once and got scores that were well above passing for my program, so I was happy. Especially because I totally suck at math...I've never been good at it because to me it's like reading Japanese--none of it makes sense, I just can't grasp the logic behind the operations, and if I miraculously do manage to do it, I either can't retain it or I can't use it in a way that's not identical to the one I learned. So hey, if I can pass the math part, so can you!

A little advice--study! Get one of those GRE prep books. I didn't have enough time to take a course or anything because I literally had, like, a week to prepare (my school didn't let me know it was required until it was almost too late!) so the book helped tremendously by letting me know what kind of questions I would be asked, etc.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again:

Buy "GRE FOR DUMMIES"!!!

After spending 3 years doing calc, I had couldn't remember a single thing from algebra and geometry. This book helped tremendously, and teaches specifically how to maximize your score on the computer based test.

I only took it once cause I refused to give them another $130. My scores were good enough to get into a PhD program, so I was happy.
