				marriage?

I have heard that some sororitites do not allow married girls to join. Is this true? Is it in Panhallenic rules or anything?

It is not a Panhellenic rule, although it may be up to the individual sororities as to what their own rules are. You're less apt to see married women in a sorority though as many of the socials (such as fraternity exchanges, homecoming, greek week, etc) requires a lot of fraternization between men and women and most married women do not need this type of interaction.

I could be wrong, but I think I remember reading once that ZTA only allows single women to join... clarification anyone?

To become a collegiate member in AGD, the PNM must be enrolled in classes full-time at a 4-year university. We do not prohibit women based on their marital status.
One of my pledge sisters had already been married for 4 years when she and I were initiated. I don't know how she managed a husband, VP-Recruitment, and other Fraternity obligations, but she did.

i'm married... and i don't see anything different about 'managing' a husband than 'managing' a boyfriend. my husband is a grown man and can manage himself. lol. my initiation is coming up soon and i'm married.

Actually, there did used to be a prohibition against married women being rushed/inititated into Alpha Delta Pi, but that no longer exists. This summer, I asked EO about it, and got a definite "no longer matters" in response. I suppose that a chapter could put it in their individual by-laws, but since they have to be vetted by the PD, I doubt that it would hold up.

So, when/where is your initiation? Feel free to PM me, if you'd rather.

I think this might be a rule from back in the day. I got hold of a student handbook for my university from the 30's or something, and it stated that anyone found to have a "secret marriage" would be expelled from school. But as far as I know it's no longer a rule for GLOs (or the university for that matter). But I woudl check with individual orgs as to their specific membership rules.

 | He's doing well. We just took him to see his pediatric pulmonologist at Vanderbilt. He's not had any attacks in months. Can you believe he's 17 months old?
