Question Is it time to sever?

I am at the point where I really don't want to go to meeting, activities or anything involving my glo. I don't really want to sever but I don't think I have the desire to be an active, beneficial part of my organization anymore. What do I do? I can stay until May and take my alum status or sever and forget the whole thing?

Are you a senior? If so it sounds like you have a classic case of senior burnout. Even if you're not, try to get involved in some other activities outside of the sorority. When it is too much of a focus it's easy to get burned out.

If you are a senior and try to self-terminate, the national org might not grant your request anyway.

In your position (and I have been in your position - in that I started working on my graduate thesis while still an undergrad, and I was really pressed for time...) I would stick it out. If you don't feel that you have the time to be very active, as you finish up your thesis, classes, etc, then go for it - just be a member, and don't get overly involved. No one will stand in your way - after all, you came to school for academics first. The benefits of Greek life are too great to throw it all away when you're about to graduate.

Try to find a way to go alum. Most GLO'S have ways you can go alum early.
