Babson College Presentation

Just thought I'd pass this news along...I got this from the Boston AA. Babson College is in one of the suburbs of Boston

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great News Sisters!

We wanted to let you all know that we have been selected to present at Babson College for expansion toward the week of August 22nd (we are waiting for a final date)!!!

Chi Omega and Sigma Sigma Sigma will also be presenting.

Currently Sigma Kappa and Kappa Kappa Gamma are on this campus.

This is great news! I'd heard from our actives at Babson a couple years ago that they'd really like a third group on campus, but expansion wasn't an option. Good luck!

Just happened to pop in and see that we were presenting here too! I always love to see my sorority attempting to grow! Good luck to ADPi as well as XO.

Ladies, I thought I'd look up Babson College, and I'm somewhat hoping that I'm not the only one who never heard of it before. It's here.

The link to the Greek Life is here.

Good luck to the Colonization Team!!

Its ok honey, I doubt anyone who lives outside MA would have heard about it, its a very small school and one of those more locally known schools, I had some high school classmates end up there.

I know there arent that many New England alumnae on GC but the email also asked for alumnae to attend the presentation. Anyone interested feel free to PM.

I'm back to crash again! :)

I hadn't heard of Babson until I moved up here either!

It's very well regarded, and it has an exceptional Entrepreneurial Studies program. Its admissions are competitive. Our Province Meeting several years ago was hosted by our Babson Chapter, and the campus is lovely. It's in an established residential suburb full of homes with extremely high property values. I've heard it referred to as a "Baby Ivy League" school.

According to our actives, chapter total is just 40. They have worked hard in recent years to increase interest in recruitment, but with just two groups, it's been difficult. Here's hoping that the addition of a third group will invigorate the Greek system!

Yes, I went to the Sigma Kappa website of Babson to get a peek, but it was working too slow at the time. The college does look beautiful. "Baby Ivy League"-I like the sound of that!

How Exciting!!!!!

I hope it works out.

Question: if all went well and we colonized there, would they be our Theta Alpha chapter? Or the Theta Beta chapter? (I say the latter b/c aren't we colonizing someplace this fall and wouldn't they be our Theta Alpha)

It would depend on when the colony is initiated - the first of those to be initiated is Theta Alpha.

Update: Unfortunately Babson did not choose us, Chi Omega was selected. Best of luck to Chi Omega's colonization!

Good luck to everyone who is presenting! I met some great girls from there a few years ago at a conference in RI. We thought that it was pretty cool that we all knew the same person! How is Chris by the way??
