Just a friendly reminder
Hi Ladies!
I just want to post a friendly reminder to everyone that our organizations are being represented by our actions on this board (whether we like it or not).

Couldn't have said it better myself! Kudos, pinkyphimu!

I think this reminder should also include PNAMs. While they do not yet have letters to represent, their actions are representative of themselves -- which could help or hinder their chances of "finding their home".

PNAMs should be aware of this, but my message was not for them. It was for the sorority women out there posting.

And I don't care.
*I* posted because *I* thought the same idea should include PNAMs as well.
And that's *MY* opinion.
Sorority women already know they're representing their letters. This goes even way beyond the AI subforum.

I'd say yes.
Whether or not they choose to follow the ways of your liking is another story.
I am an AGD. I also choose not to attach my letters to the majority of posts. Whatever I say online that might raise eyebrows is because it's what I think and everyone knows I don't ever speak on behalf of my Fraternity. I'm not going to refrain from saying something if I truly feel it needs to be said -- even if I have one of my Big Squirrels breathing down my back (and it's happened before).
If anyone ever thinks poorly of my Fraternity because of something I might have said, well...you know where they can go.

I feel like when anyone says such and such is a "reflection on your letters," it really means that sorority women should be meek and polite at all costs. Really, though, isn't such a statement sort of passive-aggressive in that it is insinuating that others are not behaving as well as the poster thinks is ideal?

Me either...which is why I started this thread in the first place. Unfortunately, in the last few weeks I have seen a great deal of behavior which truly reflects greek life in a negative light. I think that members' behavior in this forum reflects less on their own organizations than it does on greek life as a whole. It is also a poor reflection to collegiate members of alumnae life.

FOR REAL.
People need to stop caring how people "represent" letters which, in many cases, aren't even theirs. My sisters or my HQ can give me a heads up if they have a problem with how I "represent" myself. Strangely enough, no Tri Delta has ever said anything about the way I conduct myself online, and I've never had to say anything to a sister. They're big girls. They can represent themselves.
Every time someone says "Be careful of how you represent your letters!" I started to care a little bit less. . . .

You're right on target, PinkyPhiMu.
The posts here of late have been reprehensible. Frankly, I am quite shocked to see a band of women so intent on hurting others. Is this what the Greek system is all about?
I thought being Greek meant promoting sisterhood and brotherhood, helping others, and living your ritual.
Maybe I'm mistaken since I've only "been in ZTA for five minutes."

It means all of those things, but I don't remember hearing anything in my ritual about being a brainless, spineless puppet who can't express a differing opinion, or who can only spout sunshine and rainbows instead of telling people how I really feel about something.

Another Friendly Reminder
Yet another friendly reminder:
It's just a message board, people. It isn't that deep.
(I would've used the vernacular, but heaven forbid someone think that Alpha Phi initiated someone who didn't use perfect grammar!)
