Just tried the Ebay link. Didn't work. Apparently Ebay has pulled the auction.

Have to agree it looks like the other toast with Jesus on it.

Am I the only one who has just now put together the significance of the fact that Harry's parents were living in Godric's Hollow (as in Godric Gryffindor) when they were killed?
It just dawned on me over the weekend. I'm going to assume that there is significance there.

You know....I LOVE Harry Potter, but this is taking it to a WHOLE new extreme! YUCK! These books make kids want to read, not buy pieces of toast. Just goes to show you that most people are only out to buy a buck!!!

/end rant

Ok, I have a question that I thought of as I was watching PoA this weekend.

We know that Sirius is Harry's godfather. Who's his godmother? Usually there is both........

JK said he doesn't have one. I think I read that in the most recent interview that's linked on one of the previous pages.

Interview

ETA: it's on page three, about 3/4 through the interview

Thanks, I figured there had to be answer somewhere.

Ok, I'm only about halfway through the interview but JKR says that the Quidditch match she wrote with Luna commentating is the last Quidditch match. That would tell me that Harry's not returning to school. Because as she says, everyone expects Harry to play Quidditch.

Ok, I don't get this answer that she gave.......

JKR: Well, I'm prepared to bet you now, that at least before the week is out, at least one of the Horcruxes will have been correctly identified by careful re-readers of the books.

She also commented that Dumbledore's never far off, so don't we know what the horcruxes are (or at least 3 of them)?

I'm going to assume that she means in addition to the 3 we know about... and one of them actually *may* have not been destroyed yet. (See the discussions on the locket referred to in Book 5.)

Nah. Note that JKR didn't say there will be no more Quidditch, but that she wouldn't be writing anymore Quidditch matches. Once Harry comes into a book (by the third or fourth chapter, at most), the rest of the books record what Harry experiences. If he's not at a Quidditch match, then it is not described. (No book has described more than 2 or 3 matches, despite the fact that there would presumably be 6 matches per year.)

I think Harry will be back, but he won't be playing Quidditch (despite people's expectations that Harry will play). He'll be back at Hogwarts, even if he's only going to class sporadically and using it as a base. I think this is the case for a number of reasons. Aside from what I've mentioned earlier in this thread (each book is subtitled "Year # at Hogwarts," and I doubt the next one will be "Year 7 Not at Hogwarts), we learned in Book 6 that HWMNBN had a (warped, probably) affection for Hogwarts and likely used things related to the founders as Horcruxes. Hogwarts is the logical place both for Harry to try to identify the remaining Horcruxes and look for some of them. (I wonder if Tom Riddle made the first one when he killed Moaning Myrtle?)

The Hogwarts library has already proven to be filled with useful information, and remember how many things were in the Room of Requirement when Harry needed to hide his potions textbook?

But Harry won't have time for Quidditch. Perhaps Ron will become captain of the team; since he's already a prefect, maybe he'll be head Boy as well -- remember what he saw in the Mirror of Erised?

I'm assuming (perhaps wrongly) that she is betting that "careful re-readers" will figure out that the real Slytherin locket is the one that was found while cleaning out No. 12 Gimmauld Place in Order of the Phoenix. After all, if R.A.B. is Regulus Black, then . . . .

I thought that interview was great! I have to say, I was a little excited by it... It made me want to go back through all the books with a fine-toothed comb (even though I've already read them all at least 2 or 3 times).

I liked the comments (or non-comments) that she made about R.A.B. She definately led me to believe that people are right in thinking that it is Regulus Black. I hope she's not just trying to steer us in the wrong direction.

As for the quidditch thing.... I don't really think that Harry would not play, but Ron would... Besides, even if Ron does play, it's such a big deal that how could she just ignore the games. She would have to just kind of add in- oh by the way, Gryffindor won that match...

I think that Quidditch will be canceled for this last year... With the whole war going on, and maybe not enough students to fill teams, and the danger of it all... I could see that happening.

Didn't they cancel quidditch for awhile b/c it was too dangerous at the time? After Sirius got into the castle, they had to suspend practices for awhile b/c no students were allowed outside? I don't remember correctly, somebody remind me...

And what sort of objects do you think might come into play? What about the Mirror of Erised? If Harry were to find it and concentrate on finding the last horcrux, all he'd have to do is look in the mirror and he'd see what and where it is. What happened to it after Harry used it to get the Sorcerer's Stone? Where'd Dumbledore put it?

Quidditch was cancelled:

1) for the Tri Wizard Tournament
2) during the opening of the Chamber of Secrets... and kids started dropping like flies
3) kinda sorta when Umbridge was in charge... if you count them stopping it for a while and needed to be re-approved again.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think she easily could do that. Ron played but Harry didn't when Umbridge banned Harry for life. And we didn't see Gryffindor win the Quidditch Cup -- Harry and Hermione left the match to go with Hagrid. Ron told them about the match later. I can see much the same thing happening in Book 7.

We don't know where it is, and it may come into play again, but it doesn't answer questions based on concentrating hard enough (like "where are the Horcruxes?") If it worked that way, DD could already have used it to find all of the Horcruxes.

It shows the hearts deepest desire, which for Harry is defeating HWMNBN. From "The Interview":

If Harry was to look in the Mirror of Erised at the end of book six, what would he see?

JKR: He would have to see Voldemort finished, dead gone, wouldn't he? Because he knows now that he will have no peace and no rest until this is accomplished.
