Engaged!
Sorry not to post this in the "Highs and Lows" thread, but I am just too excited not to spread the news this way. After 4 years of dating, Jeremy finally proposed tonight! He totally had me fooled, too. I thought he was going to visit a friend, but really he was off buying my ring. I was cooking dinner in the kitchen and came out to the living room to sit while it was cooking. My cat walked across the couch to sit on my lap, and the ring was on his collar. Next thing I knew Jeremy was down on one knee. 
Here is a picture that doesn't do the ring justice.
It's a .5 carat with round and bagette diamonds in the channel.
So, the big day is July 15, 2006. I'm sure you'll all hear plenty about it as the time draws near.

Congrats, I actually just got a promise ring last week and then my big got engaged!!!! I know the feeling, I can't wait for my engagement.

LOL, my advice to you is to have your candlelight now! Jharb will attest to this. I waited for my engagement to have one since Jeremy and I had "planned" to be engaged before I graduated from Butler. It didn't happen, and it was the biggest regret that I've had.

BTW, my engagement pictures are in! Too bad over half didn't turn out due to photographer error, but the ones that did are cute! Whenever I can scan them I'll post.

I'm not even a Pi Phi but I feel ya. I soooo want a candle passing when I get engaged but I'm like "damn I'm out of college".
I figure since I'm active in the alum association and I live where there is an active collegiate chapter, that I'll get my candle passing somehow. LOL. I'm determined to have a candle passing. And I'm not even dating anyone. LOL.
Okay of curiousity (and loving shopping ), how was your wedding dress shopping? Did you have any luck?

Oh yeah I forgot to post about that. I did find the perfect one and bought it over the summer. Here's a picture of it for those who haven't seen it yet (er, my LJ friends.)
