I say this respectfully,

I dont like this topic because I have a feeling its purpose is to cause problems in this forum. It should be deleted but it definitely does not belong in the Greek Life Forum. Just my opinion.

Kevin

I am reading the series, and am enjoying the books. justmyo, you were rude in your last post. It's not nice to go to someone else's forum and insult them like that. Just because they don't want to discuss your topic when it is posted inappropriately does not mean you must be cruel to them. If you would like to move it to the chitchat area, which is where non-Greek topics should be posted, I would be thrilled to discuss the books with you.
My observation of the Greeks is that they are NOT all hell-bound, their lifestyles are as varied as the people that make up the orgs, and many of them (as with any other social group) are Christians. For example, my fiance's father is a Greek as well as a minister. He tells us often that he believes he is saved.
Please try to be polite to the people you meet on this board. The Left Behind series illustrates that the characters do try to be polite, in word and deed, especially when trying to convert people.

I agree with Barbara, this thread needs to take a little walk over to the chit chat board. Any topic posted there, you will probably get a "Greek perspective" since most of the people on this board are Greek.

Lil_G: I haven't read any of the books but I believe they deal with the "end time" and such.

Hmmm, can't answer your question, justmyo. I'm honestly not sure what "HELL BOND" means. But I do agree that this topic doesn't belong here. Chit Chat is a much better forum for it. Thanks!

Why is this post such a big deal? He just asked all of you whether you have read a book Left Behind, (Which I have also read) Who knew you all had such an aversion to religion. I have seen other religious topics posted on this forum and no one has croaked at it not even once. I happen to believe the book is based on truth, and you can have any opinion you want on the book. He can post his opinion because it is HIS

Hi Searching,

I agree that everyone has the right to post his/her opinion. No one was telling justmyo to stop posting. They were simply requesting that he/she move the question to the appropriate forum. Chit Chat is the perfect place for the "left behind" question, and I'm sure there are folks there that would be glad to converse on the subject.

However, I believe that what most people took issue with here is the fact that justmyo posted again on this forum implying that Greeks as a whole are hell bound due to their lifestyle. I personally do not like being preached to unless I'm in church and I certainly don't appreciate being told to "repent and be saved" by someone who doesn't know me or what I stand for. Please understand that I don't mean any disrespect to you or justmyo. I'm just stating my OWN opinion for the record.

Thanks!

Justmyo,

"Judge ye not least ye be judged."

You know nothing about me or my brothers. You know nothing about our values or morals. You have no right to judge me or us. I am an alumni advisor to my fraternity and also an ordained Elder in the Presbyterian Church.

Our Ritual is solidly based around belief in and service to a higher being.

Why don't you put your stereotypes aside and go read the first post under "Greek Family" and get back to us?

DeltAlum

I happen to find my faith a very personal thing. I don't want it fictionalized in some trivial book, or plastered on some bumber sticker. To me it is the most personal aspect of my life - I'm not going to discuss something like that here! Like I said - I find things like that offensive. God shouldn't be "brought down" to our level - we should be striving for His!

Red face

I read the story and it really shows the true love of being in the Divine Nine.I apologize for my rudeness.I have moved over to the other page.I am so much in Love with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, that I wanted to hear other's opinion about these books.I am a born again Christian, who has come a long way from when I was a neophyte.I have nothing but love for all my brothers and sisters in greekdom and especially those in Christ.I hope expressing my love for Jesus is not taboo on these pages. My brothers have accepted my Born-again attitude just fine.I am nor will I ever pretend to be Holier-than-thou.Thank you for pointing out this story to be,It was truly Jesus who put those people in the right spot at the right time.I am sure that At every turn she said "Thank you Jesus".
I did enjoy the comments, especially about the one from amycat412.
