Hmmm... not sure that "Beat It" and Anoop really go together.

He's a lot of fun, can impersonate people, but he's not any kind of actual artist. It was the same with My Prerogative. It was fun, he did a good job, but it wasn't his own in any way.

I don't think it was as terrible as the judges are reviewing it.

Megan needs to keep showing me her son because it softens me up toward her. Otherwise, so much about her irritates me - her voice, her singing style, her tat sleeve and that weird little dance (you should see my husband mimic it, it's hilarious).
ETA: oh my god, did she "caw" at the end of that song????

ETA2: and I will give to her that she is absolutely gorgeous and the camera loves her

Paula seems to be back on the sauce, she's damn nearly incomprehensive tonight. In the "pre-season" she was pretty clear and made no sense. Now that the real competition has started, she's back to being incoherent and throwing herself at all of the male contestants...

Kris Allen - the guy who Simon said should have waited a while before bringing out the wife - is the husband of an AOII. His wife, Katy, was the Recruitment Chair for the new AOII chapter at the University of Arkansas and was also the homecoming queen last year. She didn't look too pleased with Simon's comment.

Matt had me swooning until those falsetto notes at the end. I don't think I really have a favorite from tonight. Nobody was great. I think Michael Jackson songs are really difficult to do. Michael has a really unique sounding voice and his songs are very, very well-known. They picked an artist whose songs the judges and producers say the contestants just shouldn't touch much like Mariah (which they coincidentally did last season). If the producers want to take hypocritical route, they should have a Whitney night this season.

I missed the show! I'm loving the comments though. So glad I'm not the only one who can't stand Megan.

The first half of tonight's show is just wrapping up here (Anoop is about to sing), and I already think this is the best Idol episode I've seen in a long time. The performances have been really strong tonight I think, especially Danny and the pink haired girl. I didn't like Scott or the oil rig guy as much, but even they weren't terrible. I'll have to see how the rest of the show goes.

OK, the second half is a bummer compared to the first. I'm watching Adam's performance and it's actually scaring me. I feel like I'm watching someone trying to be Queen trying to be Michael Jackson. Freddy M. he's not.
 ETA: Simon LOVED that?!

 | I thought the exact same thing about the first half and the second half. And I really cannot believe Simon liked Adam's performance. I did not enjoy it.

Go AOII! Go ARKANSAS! I thought Simon's comment came off rude when he actually meant it as a compliment. I thought he was saying, "The girls all love you and they are going to be disappointed that you are married. You should have kept that hush, hush so you will get more votes from these lovesick fans."
It looked like the wife thought he meant she was unattractive or something which is not true!

I liked Danny, Adam, and Matt last night...and surprisingly, Megan. I haven't liked Megan at all up to this point and I actually listened to her whole song last night.
Don't really have a guess as to who is going home.
