Officers!

Hi ladies!

I think most other chapters had their elections a month or so ago, but we just had ours. I'm the Membership Chair! Yay! I'm excited to be in charge of our 2nd formal recruitment with Gamma Phi Beta this fall. I've already started designing recruitment shirts.

Have you been elected to an office recently?

Congratulations, Kristen,

Membership chair is a big job. Do you have an adviser? If so, begin working with her now to make decisions and begin plans. Good luck with your upcoming recruitment. I used to be membership adviser and it is such a fun, exciting time! I am sure you will be awesome!

Yup! I have an amazing adviser. I know it's a huge responsibility, and I'm excited to tackle it with full force. September is so far away, but I'm sure it will sneak up before I know it!

^^ I was just meaning that you always seem positive, up-beat, and motivating on GC. Those are all the right qualities for a membership chair to have.

Also, I second the suggestion of making as many plans as possible this spring. Make name tags in advance, plan wardrobe choices (to let sisters know well in advance what they'll need to wear) and even make posters and decorations, if you can.

Yup yup! I have so many ideas swimming in my head. OF COURSE, I'll keep you all updated.

Congrats!! Wouldn't it be great if Kappa could create a forum on their website so that all membership chairs could gather and chat about ideas and swap stories??

^^ Not holding my breath on that one, but I think doing this for all officers would be an awesome improvement on the current website.

Wow, that would be a good idea! Well, yeah, it could be a forum for officers with a sub-forum for each officer.

It would be really neat, but quite an undertaking. At the very least, members can use the directory to contact other officers in their province to get ideas. I always suggested that to my advisees.

Wow! I LOVE the idea of a forum on our national website. Wouldn't that be a great addition? As an advisor, I have contacted various other advisors who serve in the same role at other campuses, but this would be wonderful. Imagine it...a safe, friendly place to exchange ideas and support each other without anyone worrying that a "competitor"

was crashing or lurking!
