Georgia Recruitment
Hey yall !!!
I was just wondering what the typical recruitment/intake at the state schools in Georgia is. Basically, how many girls rush at the state schools and how many are taken in at each sorority? * like annual stats or this past years stats* Also, if recs would be needed.. I know for UGA they are because I did read in one of the recruitment threads that SEC schools basically require 2-3 recs per house.
I suppose the schools I would like to know about are
UWG
UGA
Ga Tech
Ga Southern
Valdosta
Columbus St.
Kennesaw
Ga State
and also a school not in the university system... Mercer.
Thanks yall!!! Hope everyone is having a good first of the year so far!!!

i think that recs. would be beneficial at any georgia school. it is the south!
you can probably find the statistics you are looking for by visiting the greek life pages on each schools website.

Or by emailing someone from the Greek Life Office if those stats are not available online. They should have no problem in saying how many registered and how many pledged.

At UGA this year over 1000 girls started recruitment, and quota was around 56, which is lower than some previous years. I think most of the houses made quota, with several adding up to the low 60s. Recs are very important there, but certainly don't guarantee an invite back to even second round. They are planning to do Spring recruitment which kind of surprised me, but they have not advertised yet who will be participating. Many of the houses were over 200 last spring, but may have had big graduating classes.

Or you can look at irishpipes thread on Recruitment Results for the past year and from there, continue to look at previous years to get an idea. Just scroll down to the state you're interested in, find the school, and Voila! Most stats she already has listed.

UGAs grek life website has really, really good information regarding recruitment and other aspects...I'm going through spring recruitment (I just transfered here...I'd rush in the fall but I'll be a junior ) I think information about fall 08 rush is supposed to be up in March.

As for UWG, I suggest that you contact Student Activities.
In a "normal" year, there are about 150 pnms that start out. Usually quota is about 21-22. Last year, for some reason, the number of pnm starting out was lower so quota was 17. (This might change if the Greek Village, proposed for Fall 2009, is approved).
I think that most groups are at or above chapter total although there is the usual number of graduates and those not returning for whatever other reason so the # of members quoted may be lower in the Fall.
Recs - that's hard to say because I don't know the other groups' policies so I'd say go ahead and try to get them, if possible.

Does anyone know which chapters are participating in Spring recruitment? I saw on the Greek website that they are having recruitment, but think most chapters took quota or quota plus in the fall.

Does anyone know how many actual bids were given out during Spring Rush at UGA (UGAmoutaineer I hope you got one) ?
Also does the fact that a girl had a rec at a house in the fall help her at all during Spring ?
Just curious..I thought it was interesting the way it was done. You never knew about the parties or how many their were ?
Also what are anyones thoughts about going through rush as a sophomore..if you went through as a freshmen and did not get a bid ?
Especially if you are from out of state.

Here's a recruitment story from a girl who went through spring rush at UGA this semester as a sophomore. Maybe it will give you some info about how it was structured.
