Sudanese Call for Execution of Briton
This has been on on going story, for the past week, that just gets odder and stranger every day.
The "hard-liners" seem to want to go out of their way to find problems with the West.
KHARTOUM, Sudan (Nov. 30) - Thousands of Sudanese, many armed with clubs and knives, rallied Friday in a central square and demanded the execution of a British teacher convicted of insulting Islam for allowing her students to name a teddy bear "Muhammad."

Well, if one didn't think the Sudanese were f*cked up because of Darfur, heres just another example of their lunacy: Wanting to kill people over a teddy bear name. The British envoy that went down there today expect to have her on a plane back home by Monday. They should really consider cutting aid to Sudan as well since these people are just ingrates.
BTW, who in their right mind would want to go their now, or even send money to the "Save Darfur" funds??

It is not "their" lunacy per se.
Just the "Ultra-Right" side of their religion.
As for the rest of you posting, unfortunatly you may be correct.

I would because a) I realize that it is the ultra-right religious nuts making all the noise, b) the fact that it is a multi-denominational Christian school no doubt inflames said ultra-right religious nuts, and c) it is these same ultra-right religious nuts that are the driving force behind the Darfur crisis.
So if anything people going along your ignorant and/or prejudiced line of thinking would actually be helping out these ultra-right religious nuts that outrage you...
It's amazing what a having a little knowledge can do in shedding light on a subject huh?

True.
However from what I have read over the past few days, the Government while perhaps not controlled 100% by the ultra-right sure does not seem all to willing or able to control them or at least balance them out.
Seems as if only moderate groups outside the Sudan area are voicing any complaints on the actions and activities going on within Sudan.

My post was more about the Sudanese government than the "religious nuts" you speak of. It's not proven but the Sudanese government has been accused of backing the genocide, as well as kidnapping and murdering the media that try to report on the crisis. And how is my line of thinking prejudiced and ignorant? Is it because I think we should stop funding governments that turn a blind eye to genocide?

Hey, if you're going to be a condescending dick in this thread, you should probably start by showing how the bolded conclusion follows from the rest of your post - because, as posed, it doesn't.

It would be "amazing" for you to actually share that knowledge, instead of some sort of righteous indignation at points that don't align strictly with your own.

I'm sorry I guess I erroneously assumed that taking money and political support away from the groups and movements opposed to the ultra-right religious nuts was indeed helping those said nuts... because that is what PiKA2001 was arguing.

Ah so my "righteous ignination" is verbotten because it doesn't line up strictly with you, but PiKA2000's is? Got it
